I wish these two were still in Congress. This discussion reminds me once again of the outsize power in this country of the right-wing Israeli lobby, e.g., AIPAC, which poured millions of dollars into the primaries to defeat them. Any many Democrats, as well as Republicans, take money from AIPAC, e.g., Schumer, Gillibrand and Booker. Then they vote accordingly to continue funding the genocide in Gaza. I expect the DNC and establishment Democrats will push another genocide supporting politician on us in the next presidential race. Cory Booker, an unwavering Netanyahu supporter, is already priming for the job. This issue has split the Democratic Party like almost no other. It is time the party recognizes that it cannot win while continuing its uncritical support of the Netanyahu government. Supporting genocide is a bridge too far for many voters who would otherwise support Democrats. And the establishment party is also supporting attacks on free speech on our college campuses and elsewhere and the deportations of innocents in the name of fighting “antisemitism.” I subscribe to the NYT’s and am a regular reader of the liberal Israeli paper, Haaretz. It is easier to criticize Israel’s continuing assaults on Gaza in the latter. I have had relevant and civil comments criticizing Israel’s conduct censored by the Times while observing that much harsher criticisms have been published in Haaretz. There have also been large protests in Tel Aviv with photos of Palestinian children killed in Gaza that may well have resulted in suspensions of students or worse if carried out on U.S. campuses. President Kennedy pressed for the registration of AIPAC’s predecessor to register as a foreign lobby organization. U.S. politicians who accept money from the group should have to register as foreign agents. Enough of this outsized, undemocratic influence, and enough of these immoral politicians who have taken over the Democratic Party.
I completely agree with you about the immoral and unsustainable Israeli War on Gaza and their efforts to invade the West Bank and steal more land. I have been sounding the alarm about the Israeli genocide since Oct. 2023. There is a new organization that is offering members of Congress an alternative path called A New Policy, which was founded last year by former State Dept. officials who object to our Israeli enabling policy. AIPAC should be registered as a foreign agent and the U.S. must quit giving weapons of mass destruction to Israel. We must also end the sanctions upon Syria, which is trying to be independent.
It’s the Uniparty. Try looking at what the Democrats are doing, and not doing, through that lens. Things will make a lot more sense. The most important step is how to get past this Uniparty to something that works for all of us!
Don't give up. Run again, Jamaal and Cori! We need your participation in our government and to improve efforts to reform our government to better serve The People. I believe that elections should be publicly financed only. I think there should be term limits for Congress and an end to gerrymandering and voter suppression by the GOP. Ranked voting also seems like a valuable measure to ensure that new candidates have a better chance to win against incumbents.
This is probably my most favorite Zeteo production along with Mehdi Unfiltered. So glad you buys brought these two dynamos on board. I can't wait to see what they do next.

Yes, we need to elevate fresh young voices in our party, but we must not engage in self-defeating infighting. We are the big tent party which stands for The People and The Law. We must expound upon our values and our record of expanding the economy and working to uphold peoples' rights.
Many Democrats are speaking out against Trump: Bernie Sanders, AOC, JB Pritzker, Chris Murphy, Jasmine Crockett, Tim Walz, Kamala Harris, Cory Booker, etc. Do not shoot ourselves in the foot. We have to save our economy and our democratic Republic from this disastrous GOP Kleptocracy.
These two need to be re-examining their own agenda, and not try to present a false narrative about the Democratic Party. Yes, there need to be big changes, but it is in no way on Life Support. This country is on Life Support. Democracy here is on Life Support, and we need to do a better job messaging that to the American people. They risked their careers and defied their own constituents for Rashida Taleb and the Palestinians, when she and those people through both of them and black people and this whole country under the bus, with the same bs. Acting as if the Dems problems were comparable to the Fascist party. Now look at us. Smh.
Here is what Bush and Bowman were up against: a mob of corporate money. A mob that supported the military industrial complex and a “mischievous political creed”(Edwin Montagu, look him up)called Zionism which has promoted genocide and destabilization, whose insatiable land and power grab have caused massive casualties among the indigenous people, leaders like Rabin, etc.
Young people have been sold out by both parties, asked to make a Faustian bargain to support Wall Street, widening income inequality, suppression of their voice at the Dem primary level, and genocide. Like Republicans, the Dem party leadership took massive amounts of money from Wall Street, the reason income inequality has roared ahead for 50 years since the Powell memo co-opted both parties.
“We know now that Government by organized money is just as dangerous as Government by organized mob.”
—FDR
At what point is the corporate Dem party going to empower moral young people, whose goals are democratic power sharing? At. What. Point.
What role do you have to play in this? Because what’s happening now was completely predictable, given the older gen’s incurious support of the corporate Dem and Rep parties over the needs of human beings.
You said all of that to say what exactly? Your argument is false on all premises. First of all, the US is the country that got the UN to set up the state of Israel. We have had GENERATIONS of supporting this country. The current admin in Israel is right wing and extremist. It was that way when Drumpf was in office his first term. AIPAC has been involved in influencing BOTH sides for years. All of that was not going to change in one instance. But what I do know, is that KAMALA was the person criticizing what Israel was doing. She could not in good faith, become an extremist on policy regarding Israel, because REAL CHANGE THERE would have to start with LEGISLATION FROM CONGRESS, which she could THEN sign into law. President Biden took the action he could from the Oval office and his exectutive orders, but all of that was temporary.
All of the sane people here in the US and around the world hate what is going on with the Palestinians, and KAMALA wanted to at least address the issue and do what she could. She was limited in what she could do BEFORE she was elected because she was the VICE PRESIDENT, NOT THE PRESIDENT!!!!
Secondly, these two people knew that they would be facing a juggernaut in getting re-elected. They supported Rashida Taleb, even when she BEGAN an UNCOMMITTED movement that unfairly targeted VP Kamala Harris, as if she could do more as the VP than the President. Part of that was fueled by the latent racism that Rashida, Palestinians and many others in the middle east feel towards people of color.
You had TWO choices in that last election. VP Kamala Harris, who wanted to keep moving forward and PROGRESSING, and trying to be inclusive of ALL people, or the monster we have now. WE KNEW HE WOULD PROVIDE MONSTROUS RESULTS, but Rashida, and her enclave of priviliged middle easterners living in luxury in Michigan and all over the US decided to make VP KAMALA HARRIS THE ENEMY!
Even when black women were critical in the support and push for movement against Israel and their treatment of the Palestinians. THEY CHOSE DRUMPF, STEIN, or told their constituents to NOT VOTE AT ALL! THEY MADE VP KAMALA HARRIS THE VILLAIN!
These two congresspeople DID NOT TAKE INTO CONSIDERATION THE WELFARE OF THEIR BLACK COMMUNITY, OR THE REST OF THEIR CONSTITUENTS!!!
You can bitch and moan all day long about the Democratic Party and what it needs to change, and that would be valid. But the Democratic Party, and in particular the most recent candidate was a helluva lot better than what we currently have. And for that, we cannot forgive either of these two, Rashida, the Palestinian community here or all of the other idiots who voted for this fool we have now, or chose not to vote at all.
They all got what the HELL they voted for. We don't need their commentary or opinions now. Yes, we need newer, younger voices, but not theirs. Or any other idiot who played with our lives, by allowing their racism and biases to cause them to self-destruct and put this whole country in jeopardy. Their hatred of black women put them and us here. It is UNFORGIVEABLE!
As for corporate America and their undo influence on politics, thank the Rethuglican party and Justice Roberts and their decision on Citizens United, and we can go back as far as Reagan, to when corporate America and racism was given a second leg to come roaring back and defile politics and this country in every aspect from education and religion, to gun laws and the economy.
Yes, the Dem party has issues, as they always have, both parties. But DRUMPF is nether Dem or Rep, he is ushering in FASCISM! How ANYONE thought this was something that could be dismissed shows how ignorant and wreckless the American public is. But now we are all paying the price. Smdh.🤬
You are right and I am right. This is just what Lewis Powell wanted—the Dem and Rep party to be captured by corporate money and crush their ability to reflect the needs of regular human beings in policy, rather than corporate oligarchs.
Of course corporate Dems rejected fascism. But they greased the wheels until it was inevitable. Obama gave $1 TRILLION to Goldman Sachs and friends, while 5 million people lost their homes. (He himself now has 4 mansions.) Created a no-power committee to park people like Volcker (who he used during the campaign to project integrity and independence), while he turned over the checkbook to Wall Street. Kamala’s husband recently took a position in a law firm fighting for private equity. Wow. Chuck Schumers brother Robert is a major leader of corporate power at Paul Weiss, which exists now (unlike in the past) to grease the wheels for lobbyists for corporate consolidation and other oligarchic priorities.
These are the choices the corporate Dems (and Reps) made that got us here—all while fighting (younger) Justice Dems tooth and nail with big money. So, until we DEMS reverse that at the primary level, authoritarianism will be our default gift to the younger gen.
Do I believe Kamala would have continued the corporate sell-out? The political industry, which she came through, was captured by Wall St and AIPAC, and her husband is clearly a Wall Street guy. So… no. And a Trump-like person would have been inevitable, sooner or later. FDR is rolling in his grave about how the Dem party has sold-out and now actively fights his priorities by keeping Justice Dems down.
Until 3.5 percent (proven to be the magic number at which political power is attained) of the population is out in the streets protesting—and until we stop being the party of herded cats and unite behind AOC/Sanders, we have only ourselves to blame.
DNC old Guard need to go. DNC no longer belongs to establishment Democrates, especially the ones owned by Big money.
Bernie and other progressive is the only way forward that will address the massive inequality and wealth Gap.
Remove big money from Politics. Is the only way DNC will get its credibility back.

Invaluable viewpoint, too long muffled by the old guard. The time for change is now.

Weimar Republic. Google it. They were the last German government before the Nazis took over
