I didn’t know that, I know there was a basketball player but not that he died on 7th attack. Thats a complex mistake to make on the topic.

In July, only 6 members of the U.S. House voted against another $500 million in military aid to Israel: Marjorie Taylor Greene, Summer Lee, Thomas Massie, Ilhan Omar and Rashida Talib. When Netanyahu visited Washington, D.C. last month, 5 Democratic senators, along with several Republicans, smilingly posed with him in a photo op at the Capitol: Amy Klobuchar, Chuck Schumer, Cory Booker, Adam Schiff and Jacky Rosen.

I think our focus now should be on the Congress. Whatever else we do, demonstrate, post comments, etc., nothing is going to change since it controls the funding. And it does not represent us. Polls show that a majority in the U.S. are opposed to Israel’s actions (genocide) in Gaza.

I’ve written a letter to Klobuchar and will follow up with letters to the other 5 who posed with Netanyahu. The Democratic House members who voted to nix additional funding are of course being targeted by the Israeli lobby. Ideally, we would organize a huge march on the Capitol on this issue. Huge demonstrations are happening in other countries that contribute less armaments to Israel. What’s wrong with us?

Left out the member who introduced the bill to cut off funding: Al Green. We need to withhold our votes from anyone who supports the genocide with our tax dollars, and that includes Democrats. Democratic voters too often capitulate by voting blue no matter who, and the Democrats count on that. If we vote for genocide aren’t we also complicit? We need to make this a make or break issue in the primaries.

Hopefully it will come back to haunt them. We need to get the word out. A lot of people don’t know about it, although the photo is circulating on the internet. Cory Booker posed separately in his office with Yoav Gallant, who along with Netanyahu is wanted for war crimes by the international court. That photo has also been circulating. These senators also take lots of money from

AIPAC. Booker and Klobuchar have both expressed interest in running for president.

And yet we still fund this atrocity... sending weapons and a ridiculous amount of money just "given" to them yearly....

A list of those funded by AIPAC stands in contradiction to that list. AIPAC should be a registered foreign agent. They fully own our legislature.

JP Connolly's avatar

Absolutely should AIPAC be registered as a foreign agent. They do act like one for sure. And publicizing AIPAC fundees is essential at this point. AIPAC funds are spread far and wide through the political system.

Lamentably and falsely, Germany is still on Israel's side. Even in the new test for becoming a German national, there are questions as to how Germany is "responsible for Israel's wellbeing blahblah". Abominable and stark crazy.

According to a NYT opinion by a lunatic Bret Stephens it’s not a genocide. The NYT always comes thru with total crap! Un effing believable. He thinks that 100000 deaths is not genocide but 100001 is! How did we get here?
