I thought it was illegal to use a musician’s work without permission. We all know that Trump does not respect the law, but am I missing something here? Is he intentionally inviting a lawsuit? I was glad to see that a judge in the Southern District of Florida imposed a $1 million penalty on Trump for bringing “frivolous” lawsuits against Hillary Clinton, the DNC and James Comey. More courts need to start doing this to discourage Trump and his sycophants from weaponizing and corrupting the judicial system.

For meetings and events it’s for _hearting_ the music with separate fees for playing. ASCAP, BMI, CESAC are among the licensing organizations. Hopeful a copyright lawyer reads this and can inform. What’s ludicrous is that the WH does it intentionally to “out” entertainers they think disagree with their (MAGA) thinking or actions.

White House spokesperson Abigail S.'s Tuesday morning post and response to Ms. Carpenter's communication pertaining to the Trump Administration's unauthorized use of her music in a repulsive ICE video was bizarre. It sounded something like what one might hear in a primary school classroom with an unhappy, undisciplined child trying to think of insults to hurl at someone who's getting the better of him or her.
