I need an asterisk on this line: "They view most government assistance as welfare for the undeserving. "*

*unless that government assistance is a "subsidy"/payment, or tax credit for their business or a reduction in taxes due personally or for the business. Those are all earned and justified benefits from the federal government.

It’s hard for me to comprehend why Americans don’t demand universal healthcare similar to what exists in every other “developed” country. Why do we settle for a confusing system that is expensive and yields worse results?

Because most of the older middle class has gotten healthcare through their corporate employer & thinks the only people that don’t are lazy bums that don’t have a job.

Cheeto Is Losing The Polls…The Point Of 30% No Return

The most recent Marquestte poll shows Cheeto approach to inflation is a 28% On managing the economy and tariffs he lands at 36% and 37% respectively

This 28% number is a major tell from the electorate Pollsters claim that when a leader loses support below 30% it becomes a point of nonrecovery That is to say when less than 30% opines that the leader is performing poorly all support for the leadership is lost and that opinion cannot be reversed When a leader's approval rating or public trust falls below 30% in polls, it indicates a significant crisis of confidence among the public

This may be very well be the reason is Cheeto is so angry He sees that the false reality he is trying to spin to the American electorate is not believable and that the lies are not working as they once had Nobody believes that inflation is coming down(purchasing power of the dollar is currently 6 pennies), concentration camps are good, that disappearing people off the streets and disrupting communities is great policy, that taxing struggling American companies and consumers is good for the country, and that it’s morally right to protect pedophiles

So why should Cheeto be angry? He is the Herber Hoover of the 21st century but worse He has created this mess, owns it, and it will never recover for this evil, corrupt, depraved, arrogant, deranged transactional sick sick mind

Who has actually looked beyond the insurance aspect of so called healthcare?? We do not have health care here -its a money grab by the insurance industry. In my life time health insurance was only for catastrophic events. Then came Managed Care and HMO's that reported to introduce a check and balance from the greedy providers. Fast forward and the bean counters have inserted themselves into every aspect of this industry - and that is all that it is -an industry. Docs, nurses and other professionals were reduced to the title of providers, insurance stuck its nose into every aspect of this now miserable experience; docs and nurses got less, we got insurance nonsense invading every aspect of our lives and the money supposedly saved just went to the insurance industry. People lost, actual professionals lost and the insurance agencies made out like bandits. We are suckers...why do we accept this absurd insertion of congress (the best gov't money can buy) into a field where they do not belong?

Get insurance out - take their forms and analysis and lobby army and go home ... Watch prices fall by 20 % instantly and restore the dignity of the doc and patient relationship.

My 2 cents. They might rebrand a bad version of Obamacare. But even a bad version of Obamacare will be better than Obamacare is after New Year when the Premiums go up/funding expire. The question is if maga will realize that. Be ok with that.
