This bill is the most recent law I’m aware of saying have your documents on you at all times just for looking like you could be an immigrant jn 2010! Where was the groundwork and legislation to prevent it snowballing federally to where we are now?! Where we are, is this bill on steroids.
Maybe there are more recent examples not from this 2025 administration of racial profiling of immigrants. Please correct me if there is more recent examples that I’m missing.

I'm genuinely interested in how JD Vance and Mike Johnson, self-described devout Catholics, justify telling lies about matters of real importance. I've seen Catholic explanations (usually based on Augustine and Aquinas) excusing "little white lies", "necessary lies" to mislead a person who obviously has evil intentions, and evasive answers through "mental reservation" of the truth. But Is it OK to lie if you're serving what you see as a higher purpose or amplifying what you see as a greater truth? Is it OK to lie to someone you believe has no right to know the truth? Do they actually have a theological basis for lying or are they just complete hypocrites?
There is a whole cult of converted Catholic young men on the internet that have Ultra-orthodox believes. They argue with the pope . They have podcasters that promote these male dominant beliefs.
