Fast forward to August 2024 Democratic National Committee and Kamala Harris refuse to allow any Palestinian American vetted by the Uncommitted National Movement (and the DNC) to address the convention about the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, especially after family members of Israeli hostages spoke at the convention.
After the totally predictable and preventable loss in November, Democrats, western media and nearly everyone with a platform, have engaged in endless mental gymnastics to avoid the truth. Simply put, the singular feature that determined the outcome of the 2024 presidential election was the denial of Palestinian humanity. If we were willing to ignore the genocide in Gaza it should be no surprise that millions of voters with a conscience would either stay home or vote for someone else. As a result, such dehumanization of an already marginalized group living under apartheid makes it easier for an aspiring dictator to pursue an ever expanding dehumanization (think targeting) of other groups- beginning with students and immigrants and mushrooming to universities, corporate media, institutions, and now anyone.
