Leaders have a chance to make gender apartheid a crime against humanity in international law. Will they meet the moment – for women and girls in Afghanistan, and worldwide?
There was a piece done ages ago (if not a decade ago) by a now defunct news group that interviewed an Afghan woman ( who was no longer living in Afghanistan ) and they also showed photos of women in Afghanistan in the 1970's , I believe, and now.. those pictures side by side need to be sent around the world...it's our future in this country if the likes of Nick Fuentes get's his way... chilling, depressing ( my proof reading is horrendous apologies )
As much as I love defunk as a word, the word you are looking for is defunct. Also, I agree. People say that’s hyperbolic, but I really do think that’s our future if we don’t pay attention.
Thank the United States for the Taliban and every oppressive regime in the Middle East if not the world. Who propped up fanatical Muslims in the Middle East? The United States and its Allies. Stop with the fake outrage.
There’s no fanaticism in Islam…they are cover ups for those who justify violence through human ignorance. We don’t call them Muslims…we call them oppressors and even worse from the lens of Quran…hypocrites and/or trained psychopaths groomed by hypocrites…
The. Mujahideen, leading to Taliban, leading to Al Qaeda leading to ISIS were created by undue interference and war mongering in Afghanistan and the Middle East. They filled a vacuum created by this meddling.
What do you want the West to do now? Bomb them some more? o
Majority of, not all countries are full of misogynists both men and women as are most “institutional/organized religions, especially in the USA. All done to “protect” women! Guess what! Women do not need to be protected. They are perfectly capable of doing any occupation or career that they would choose. Misogynists however have some idea that they need to make all females subject to their opinions, etc. as they wrongly assume that their opinions, likes/dislikes are to be forced on those who would choose to do otherwise. Suggest misogynists obey the dictates of their consciences, take their own inventory and accountability. If they did so it would be a full time job and they would not have time to abuse and criminalize women who prefer a different path.
Yes you’re right a high percentage of Afghan men are in same sex relationships because of financial situations one twenty five years old male said he had never seen a woman his mother was killed in the war and he didn’t know what they looked like he couldn’t afford a wife and so he lived with his mate for a companion that makes it convenient to hate women Islam breeds homosexuality lauriemilerjade.com
Very informative article. Thanks. But, when I saw Malala fund it turned me off. She is a sellout to the zionist lobby. No condemnation from her on the Genocide of our times and she is working with war criminal Hillary Clinton on Broadway show. Pathetic !!
SCOTUS has become the judicial arm of the MAGA/Christian Nationalist movement having been orchestrated by the mega-funded Federalist Society and Heritage Foundation Now with full control of the court, it’s now time to “make hay” on the investments the Right has made over the last 30 years The McConnell Senate excuse to delay and then accelerate SCOTUS nominees has led to the desired result of an imbalanced court of today
Elie Mystal, judicial correspondent for the Nation, has since 2020 argued for a congressionally dictated court expansion(https://bit.ly/4b9YwhM) Arguments that it would lead to continued court expansion is okay with him since it would over time dilute the power of the court hence making it more effective Court watcher extraordinaire Mark Joseph Stern has recognized this judicial disaster and suggested that a 4 part congressional plan(https://bit.ly/4soC0rY) would help in judicial reform
But one thing is now clear SCOTUS reform in some form should take place and that should be one of the primary issues that Democratic candidates should be confronted with going into the 2026 midterms
28 Nations had their military in Afghanistan. In over 24 years of presence, the situation changed from bad to worse: From pockets of Taliban reign to official Taiban reign.
So, all those years there was nothing "we" all would do, why should "we" now be different?
The presidents and hence the
military of 28 nations (I kid you not) were uncapable to prevent what then happened. The internal situation is way worse than it was before. And "we" also forgot our allies - translators, drivers, security - who helped during our military's stay in Afghanistan and who are now especially endangered for having helped us.
Apart from abovesaid, "we" sent home several dead soldiers. And the whole manoeuvre cost the tax payer zillions.
"We" didn't help Afghans in the first place, why should this be any different now.
Those who DO help for decades, are doctors without borders and other NGOs.
Weapons sales in all countries must be stopped right now. Then Taliban and IS and IF and Boko Haram can be stopped.
Western governments topple nations that refuse to allow their resources to be pillaged and install the only people crazy enough to allow their own country to be pillaged - those same people end up doing crazy things, and then western governments condemn them.
“What happens next will not be a test of Afghanistan’s future alone. It will be a test of whether the international system can evolve to meet the moment. For Afghan women and girls,”
Tell me you live in alternative universe of fallacies without telling me. I have news for the author, the so called international system no longer exists.
The Taliban are only one of many 'rulers' who oppress their female population. Many religions and cultural practices are used to justify this cruelty. Misogyny is a world-wide phenomenon. Women, globally need to support each other to gain power and then help to empower others to get the right to education, to get the right to vote to have a say in their political system, to get the right to work or run a business, to control their own wealth, to be free of sexual assault and violence.
Thanks for highlighting this important issue. However, once again, at least one of your links is useless (The Russell Tribunal on Vietnam) because the article is paywalled. It's fine for you to include citations, but it's a waste of the reader's time when those citations are not accessible.

I'm laughing out loud at me error.... thank you ..... I made the correction

To say that to comment is fake outrage is to suggest saying nothing is the better option lauriemillerjade.com
I totally agree with Robin C C.

Perhaps it is men that are protecting themselves from the power of women.

Dead right and it’s not coming back Israeli has control of the world order and there is nothing we can do about it lauriemillerjade.com

There is no doubt in my mind that islam breeds homosexuals, 85 % of men in Kabul have same sex relationships Hence the dislike of women
