Until 2015, I had never met a Muslim. I had no idea what to expect. But then I met a woman who became family to me. She was married to a Muslim and her children are practicing Muslims. I was fortunate to be able to get to know them and ask questions and truly understand the faith. It's a beautiful faith, and I wish everyone would take the time to understand rather than be ignorant, racist and xenophobic.

You know, there was a time in my life that I thought forward progress was for keeps, that our moral arc would always trend upwards and over time we would achieve some level of enlightenment as a country. I see now, sadly, that it is ever so easy to slide back into the abyss of pettiness, ignorance, and racism. I am disgusted and embarrassed by my own country these days, but I do take heart that a candidate like Momdani can capture the popular imagination and offer us, yet again, a way forward. I just wish we didn't have to keep fighting the same civil rights battles that Zohran's own father helped to win in the 1960s. I'm doing my best to keep the faith, but damn these people make it hard.

Living through the 60s and 70s, I thought so too. It was so clear to me that everyone should have learned the value other humans, regardless of their differences. I just can't get over how many of my fellow citizens are so ignorant. I thought we were getting better over time. We weren't. And I'm broken hearted and mad both.

I, too, am broken-hearted at the ubiquitous bigotry in the U.S. It is sooo stupid.

Such an important issue to address!! I live in Germany, everybody talks about antisemitism rising. But what I observe, specially in the middle and upper class is islamophobia rising since many years.

Everyone should watch Francesca Fiorintini's Islamaphone "crash-outs" on Zeteo from 26 June. It gave me a number of laughs from her insights but it also gave me more hope. Thank you.

The Islamophobia in most Western countries is very real. Thank you for this great piece pointing out the racist rhetoric and the hate spewing public figures who should be condemned. Thankfully Muslims learned from post-9/11 that cowering in the shadows gets us nowhere. We need to be front and center and face the Islamophobes head-on to break the wall of Islamophobia and show the common people that the misinformation about Islam/Muslims is being force fed to them for promotion of a specific ideology and goal. Dehumanizing Muslims at home and abroad makes it easier to abuse them, kill them, take over their rich lands and resources and erase their 1400 year history of justice, peace and power.

WE the People Still Control Our Destiny

Regardless of Nazi control of SCOTUS, Congress, and the Executive WE the People still decide what happens in 2026 If we care about our country's destiny and to move away from this Nazi regime it's important to start planning our strategy to the election now

This includes taking steps to prevent election subversive strategies that were present in 2024 These steps include contacting your secretary of state about

- Conduct independent audits of UPS firmware on Dominion and ES&S machines

- Subpoena communications between Eaton, Palantir, Starlink employees, and Pro V&V

- Audit Starlink satellite logs for the week of the election

- Freeze uncertified infrastructure updates

- Recount physical ballots—by hand

Also remember

DO NOT become cynical about elections

Phone calls matter to legislators

Yard signs matter

Everybody has a townsquare where we can make our voices heard So Engage Don’t shy away from difficult conversations Let them know how you feel about people disappearing off the streets is not OK Taking away medical care from our unfortunate citizens for tax breaks for the uberwealthy

Show up to Protest

Islamophobia is a disease that has been spread by a people that hide behind it to commit genocide . The war is on a cultural, societal and governmental level. To promote Islamophobia in order to dehumanize the population of Gaza and middle east. As subhuman. We need interfaith now more than ever .

Books calling to monotheistic religions like AEON by Cassian Noor are essential and urgent to spread the message.

People of all beliefs need to condemn Islamophobia, to simply defend those that have faith.

Mamdani needs good varied advisors. Landers is there. He must present as Of The People. tRump and the Facist gang are Of Our Own Kind. A cohesive unity of the variety that is NYC. Good vibes to Zoran. ** 🍊 A$$ can't keep his pants still at the possibility of a major confrontation over ICE in NYC. He wants to take the Major Sanctuary City down with National Guard and military. (Adams was/ is ready to hand it to him.)I left NYC, I still love so much about it, ie the diverse culture. That is America 🇺🇸. Speech over, for now.
