To Target artists of the written word, poets and journalists, for speaking and telling truth to the world is a high crime and misdemeanor, in itself, far beyond crimes against humanity that plague us regular folks. These speakers of truth educate us and enrich us and speak for us to power and to our better selves. They try to put the voice of the people and cannot be silenced. When gone we speak out on their behalf, so they are amplified. When they are killed, as so many have been, in Palestien and Lebanon and in war zones, those whose names are not known to us, it is up to us to make sure they are not silenced. We must speak their words and ideas on, for them and share them with those we meet. This expands and amplifies their messages, as martyrs to truth, far beyond those they might reach directly, in their lifetime. Be the Messemger for peace and right action and they live on, and all are freeed.
