Read Palestinian Knesset Member Ayman Odeh’s poignant essay for Zeteo breaking down what’s at the center of the repeated eruptions of violence in the region, and what must be done to end the cycle.
Though I agree with so much said here, I am not so sure about this section, which seems to indicate that somehow the Israeli left have had less involvement in the massacres, deprivations and displacements of Palestinian people
"The founding event of the Zionist left over the past 30 years is the Oslo Accords. The founding event of the Israeli right is October 7, and this war.
After Oslo, the right attacked the Zionist left, claiming that the peaceful approach brought neither a solution nor security.
Now all of us can attack the Israeli right by arguing that the military approach has also brought neither a solution nor security."
From all that has happened, it appears to me that if the 'left' had stood up properly against what has been done to Palestinians since 1948, life in Palestine would be very different today. Maybe the occupation could have been ended and true steps taken toward living together in justice and peace. But what we see instead is an overall, right and left, everybody except a very brave few, total capitulation to the deepest Zionist goal, bringing us to this terrible point in the scheme to empty the land all around for total occupation.
A breath of fresh air. Mr. Odeh is right that military might won't solve the longterm issues for either side. I frequently criticize Zeteo for its absolutist and maximalist viewpoints but this article is different. It presents something that starts to represent a real solution. There are points of the 2002 peace initiative that aren't workable but I believe those can be solved through negotiation.
I'd love to see Zeteo incorporate other progressive left voices, who can bring a rational Jewish perspective, but who have similar thinking as Mr. Odeh, such as Jeremy Ben-Ami of J Street. Mr. Ben-Ami has influence with the progressive political leadership in both the US and in Israel.
What’s wrong with this picture? The Nazi Republicans are demanding $200B for more funding for Mullin’s Gestapo which he inherited from cowgirl Noem and Adolph Eichmann(aka Stephen Miller)
But wait for it This demand for more $$$ comes when Cheeto and his Nazi Congressional allies passed $45B in the first budget bill last year So now this most recent funding bill for ICE/CBP is 4.5x more than originally allocated Why does ICE need this more extensive funding? Since spendthrift Cheeto sees the Treasury as his own piggy bank it’s just a vicarious request to screw the American people without accountability
Is the funding for more concentration camps? Is it to hire and partially train more Gestapo agents to roam and maraud American communities? Is it to use extra Gestapo agents at polling places during the midterms? It’s surely not for border patrol agents since there aren’t any immigrants coming across the border anymore Nobody wants to live in a gulag D’s are making the Nazis accountable and they don’t like it
Thank you for these wise words. I pray this nightmare will end.
And like Iran
You can't bomb and kill this 'problem' away.
The real problem in my minds eye is:
The Greater Israel Expansion Dream.
How dementedly psychotic the zionist Israeli dyspora is.

The true voice of sanity.
