Plus, could Iran become America’s next ‘forever war’? How do we stop that? Check out Mehdi and an all-star panel of experts discuss live at DC’s renowned Busboys & Poets.
Muslims are 1% of the American population and at least, this primary season, every Republican was running against Sharia Law like they could take over the US.
I guess it was the replacement theory of the American Christian Nationalists Taliban.
I believe that the make-up of the USA population of black, Hispanic, Asian and indigenous people surpassed the :"white" population (european ) about 10 years ago, You've got the numbers and if you want the power, VOTE in those who will help you most, not necessarily by race but by interest (such as environment or sustainable economic growth) and influence for things that help everyone. Forget promises. Look at their life, background and expertise as well as motivation for change. It also helps if they are under age 70 and have supported workers and environment groups with their votes in the past. Do they throw any groups under the bus? If so, throw them under, too.
No matter what Voring District you are in you can still vote and enough people are concerned about the decisions supported by Republicans, they may not vote or may vote for progressive democrats that are on the ballots in November. Active debates and sharing the vision of candidates may help voters to vote in their best interests. People know what that is so many will not vote for Republicans that support Trump. People can still choose and may be allied with democratic candidates for the first time in their voting lives or may switch parties to others who best serve for the good of the Nation and the Planet.
Tell that to all the black people in the South who were just disenfranchised in record numbers. The majority of the electorate are still white people, the same people who overwhelmingly voted for the Pedophile masquerading as President. This is simple math.
The issue of voting, itself is at risk for us all and many lawsuits have been initiated to stop current disenfranchisement. The elections this year may identify what needs to be done to secure rights for 2028 and many will need to struggle for their current or past rights. HELP those who vote to find their polling places and to get to them. Question and report any harassment of intimidation, false information about polls and work for voting options free from intimidation. Ask for voting by mail for the greatest turnouts.
One hates to burst anyone’s bubble but this cost of living crisis that Americans are currently seeing is not something that happened in the last 18m Of course WE the People would expect that POTUS would do something, anything to try to deal with this economic problem But like COVID Cheeto is completely over his incompetent head to handle the matter
The fact is this The US dollar has become worthless as a fiat currency In terms of gold the value of the dollar is 4 to 6 cents of what it was in 1971 when Nixon took the country off a gold standard Let that sink in for a moment The dollar in your wallet has the purchasing power of 4 to 6 cents while many if not most salaries have not kept up with the cost of living due to the ineptness of elected officials(https://bit.ly/4f4L9BG)
In a historical perspective in the early 1920’s after WWI postwar Germany’s economy seemed to be humming along without a gold standard until it wasn’t and by 1922 people were burning Reichsmarks to stay warm Saliently the politicians knew the currency was in trouble but didn’t do anything about it And there are numerous examples littered throughout history of countries that have flirted with a fiat currency and all have ended in disaster Now Deutsche Bank predicts $8000/oz gold
China knows this It sits on 70K tonnes(the US has an unaudited 8Ktonnes) and many American financial commentators like Ray Dalio are warning of a financial crisis Cheeto will preside over the next Great Depression and will make GW Bush’s Great Recession look like a picnic
WE the People should demand that this issue be front and center as an election issue for now and until the country is put back on a gold standard
Yeah, I did watch some of that talk and stopped because I thought the idea that currency should have its basis or value in something rare or scarce had gone away. So the gold and the silver standard stopped being relevant and FDR introduced Keynesian economics. It was a system of governmental intervention and control to maintain stability in the economy. I like it but I am the proletariat and think that means the government has my interest in mind rather than the wealthy and their trickle down BS. And the guy talks without separating his teeth. I guess that is a British thing, I tried it and keeping my teeth together and talking at the same time is antithetical to me.
Keynes established the economic mathematical model called macroeconomics which we live with today but didn't do away with a metallic standard That is a political decision/event which happened in 1971 and conveniently allows unrestricted government spending Here's another Macleod article that can help shed light on the topic https://bit.ly/3PXdjnW
Listen, I am not an expert in economic ideology, but I have been to the Fed down in Atlanta and learned a few things. We don't live with Keynesian economics any more, not with trump at the helm. It is all about politics controlling the economic story. I have been listening to Paul Krugman for years and in my life, he has helped me to understand what is going on...he's a wonk but my kind of wonk. I have been really poor, fathered 3 children in a house without electricity, running water and little or no septic and in a house I built myself but my wife and I made it. Raised the three to live successful adult lives. We managed partly because of progressive policies like unemployment insurance, medicaid, food stamps, veterans benefits. I call myself A New Deal Boomer. Nixon corruption and Reaganomics were the start of this right wing takeover of a political party and our government and our society. Honestly, I don't care about that guy or his ideas. Sorry.
Incidentally, I grew up moving every couple years. It was…challenging? constantly trying to find my niche. But I’ve NEVER encountered a Sikh person who wasn’t wildly welcoming and warm. I know no people’re and no faith’s a monolith, but my experience with Sikhs thus far is
All White people with colonial mindset are basically Racists. Even though most of their colonies have been freed up from their slavery but their societies still behave like masters towards the immigrants, particularly Muslims. Their hatred of Muslims is deep rooted, as the children are brought up with the same mindset by their parents.
And now that Muslims are voicing and have been protesting against the ongoing genocide by the Zionist Jews in Palestine. This for the Zionist Jews who control 90% of the politicians in the West, is not acceptable and that's why these Zionist Jews are funding the right wing fascists and the mass media to generate islamophobic propaganda, virtually 24hrs a day. They want the right wing fascists to carry out bloodshed in the European and American cuties and thus the result is attack on Muslims, which has increased hundred folds since the genocide of Palestinians and marches attended by the Muslims against Israel.
Yes, totally agree Medhi! Those considered minorities or less than should be working together. They hate us all and dont want is educated or have economic prosperity.
Thank you, Mr. Morgan and Mr. Hassan for this conversation. I live on the border of Oklahoma. All candidates accept one Gettner Drummond are pushing sharia law which, I find disturbing and dangerous. No offense to ZETEO. They hate Lincoln Square which signifies to me that Lincoln Square is doing its job in getting people out there to subscribe to them. I have been told Gettner Drummond is soft Republican. Islamophobia is unjustified in any regard whatsoever to myself. If you like good articles and live stream chats please subscribe to ZETEO.
Has anyone questioned the methodology of the study showing that left wing political violence had shot up? I had pulled it up and briefly looked over it and it seemed, based on a cursory glance, that several of the examples given were not clearly motivated by a left-leaning ideology and instead were politically incoherent. But I didn't give it a proper deep dive. I suppose I really should.
That is Israels work from as far back as I can remember.
The Israeli way is to point the finger at someone else, and it has been muslims.
Netanyahu even blamed the Australian PM for the bondi shooting,
denying that it is he who has caused ALL the antisemitism around the world.
The Israeli Jews have lied about Palestinians for years, accusing them of being " Terrorists " when all along it has been the Israelis who are terrorising their neighbours. horrifically.on a dayly basis.
I watched the entire 3 hours plus of the forum at Busboys and Poets ( thanks for the link). A great program with engaging speakers, many thoughtful points. Especially appreciated Mehdi’s urging near the end to reach out, mobilize, and energize the resistance.
On the subject of something perhaps akin to Sharia Law, in South India years ago I discovered that every Indian village has a group of elders (not necessarily just older people) who were voted in to consider all manner of civil and local issues. These groups worked really hard to resolve problems and were greatly respected on the whole.
@Mehdi Hassan a very civilised, restrained and productive conversation with Piers Morgan …. Will wonders never cease 😉? Well done! Some important points were very persuasively presented. What does everyone else here think?
Muslims are 1% of the American population and at least, this primary season, every Republican was running against Sharia Law like they could take over the US.

Weird how this keeps happening despite prominent Muslims bending over backwards to be seen as respectable.

Hard to do that when your political power is being gerrymandered away by white supremacists.

❤️ ya, Mehdi. But can't stomach one sentence of PM. It's a long way to...November.

I haven't watched the videos yet but I am SO EXCITED! My favorite people! I can't wait. Thank you so much for posting this.
Also, I'm right now reading The Flag and the Cross at the behest of a friend. This fits right in!

I didn't like Charlie Kirk. I got suspended from my job for saying so out loud.
This piece is not about whether he deserved what happened. It is about whether the official story of what happened actually adds up.
It does not. Not by a long shot. The FBI is either lying or incompetent. Either way, you are not going to like what I found.
