Jon Stewart on this Monday's Daily Show interviewed Peter Beinart and really opened up about the Gaza genocide and Israel's responsibility as well as the US responsibility Finally 2 Jewish men get real publicly about the ongoing travesty https://bit.ly/4527daM

Meanwhile dirtbag defensive Jewish Democratic political operatives like Simon Rosenberg continue their silence It explains the DNC position in the 2024 election Disgraceful!!!

To starve a people (war crime), destroy homes as a collective punishment (war crime), to destroy unniversities, schools, mosques and chufches with clear intent to ethnic cleansing of a people ( Genocide) destroy maternity hospitals, to switch the power off to incubator, to deny baby formula and pain killers. This is Genocidal.

My feeling - this is a Holocaust in Gaza, it meets every definition and the burning happens as all those bombs dropped and missiles fired.

We will need Nuremberg type trials when this is done Israel has behaved exactly like Nazi Germany, even to the point of attacking all the neighboring states, and Israel will need complete restructuring and oversight to ensure it is completely changed and can never do anything like this again

I love Medhi and I think he did great with the Pod Save Bro debate, but I wish they had a Palestinian person, like Dana Buttu instead. The other a We need to center and believe Palestinian voices, even on the left and in the propalestime space we fall victim to centering non Palestinian speakers. The head to head and daily show pod appearances were great. The jubilee made me feel like Medhi needed a hug after.

These were all brilliant. So many good things said. But I loved this quote from Mehdi when he was chatting with Jon, that will make me pretty much a forever fan.

"Until we deal with money in politics we're simply not gonna have a proper opposition.. we are gonna have you know coke and diet coke.... "..and worse.

Mehdi exactly cut to the root of things. Thank you!

I feel, If we can't change this soon we are up the proverbial shit creek for all mankind as equality becomes hyper extreme and any kind of rules based order will be out of the window.

I also loved his beautiful push back on the pod save debate.

Jeremy Ben-Ami (at 53:00 in particular): I doubt that anyone is confused about why you feel entitled to own the word "genocide." You believe that your feelings, about a past genocide, are more important than everyone else's feelings about a CURRENT genocide.

This current genocide exposes you (and everyone who shares your position) as the holocaust-deniers that you are.

You, Jeremy, are wilfully complicit in this holocaust. You blame RESISTANCE to Israel's racist, expansionist, annexationist savagery, as if it justifies Israel's ESCALATION of its racist, expansionist, annexationist savagery. You attempt to JUSTIFY & FURTHER INCITE this phase of Israel's genocide against Palestine's rightful occupants, by telling OVERT LIES. And all the while, you try to feign moderate sensibilities, in order to slither your hateful agenda past the credulous.

You choose the term "moral abomination" precisely because it has no specific meaning, yet you expect it to sound like strong enough criticism to sanitize your holocaust-denial.

It isn't.

There is no excuse for your position, and I believe you know that.

I had to understand the split between Zionists (who believe the Israel people have the right to a Jewish state) and fundamentalist Zionist who demand more than that as their religious right. I think that fundamentalism in any religion creates unnecessary pain and suffering under the cover of "religious" rights. We are seeing it emerge in this country as well (perhaps why oligarchs support AIPAC). I don't believe most Jewish people in this country support this Israeli government. But we need to see that in public actions by Jewish people who oppose AIPAC.

Jeremy Ben-Ami seems like a complete hypocrite. Zionism was from its invention in 1881 a white racial supremacist colonial settler ideology of genocide even though the word genocide did not exist in 1881.

The Zionist goal was the creation of a Zionist (or Jewish) state. This goal was predicated on the physical destruction of the Palestinian group in Palestine. The Zionist leadership understood the predicate and immediately began to develop a specific malicious strategy (dolus specialis) of physical destruction of the Palestinian group.

This strategy was continuously updated and improved until the Zionist colonial settlers put the long planned genocide into full operation in Dec 1947. The Zionist genocide against Palestinians has never ended and has reached the mass-murder phase with the Gaza Holocaust.

Likewise, the Nazi genocide of Jews started in Jan 1933 and did not reach the mass-murder phase of the Nazi Holocaust until 1941 during Operation Barbarossa. Please read the linked post. Mehdi needs to discuss the law of genocide with a lawyer that understands genocide law.

Although I was entertained by the debate I was disappointed that Mehdi didn’t use the Zionist’s history towards Palestine to push back on Zio-Jeremy’s BS “both sides” argument and his view that Jews are entitled to their own state when Israel exists only because they have murdered and forcefully displaced indigenous Palestinians since 1948. Zionists have no credibility to make judgments about morality and all Jeremy revealed is that ALL Zionists will support an evil and illegitimate Israeli state when it comes down to it - liberal or not.

Also, I don’t understand Mehdi’s “great respect” for AOC when she shilled for Harris by lying about her “working tirelessly” for a ceasefire AND both were complicit in silencing Palestinian voices at the DNC convention. AOC is an establishment Democrat lap dog just like Sanders.
