These ideas of how to combat rising fascism in Europe and the US were understood by Franklin Roosevelt and his Vice-President, Henry Wallace. Denounced as socialists, they championed the New Deal and progressive policies as an antidote to the appeal of populist fascists.
Souce? Not criticizing, but I've been reading some about Roosevelt and the US pre-WWII and haven't come across this broader idea, just that Roosevelt's impetus was combating the economic problems of the Great Depression, not the rise of fascism.

You summed up the current situation perfectly. Yes it’s true that because the fascists are so incompetent that they take too long to get it together. Yet the left are also too slow in educating the public about the strategies to put things on a more even basis. What’s needed is not another politician at a podium giving another speech about the problem but a teacher to educate the people about how to fix the problem.

It sounds like you are assuming that some of the fascist supporters are addicted to the ideology. That's not true. Businesses embraced leftist policies when the left was in power. Politics and regulations define the market. Change regulations and they will move to adopt leftist ideologies again.
Some businesses are addicted to the fascist ideology - like the my pillow guy, as fascism begins to crumble, they disintegrate with it.
