They are so many real issues going on in this country to focus on Hasan Piker, over and over, like a punching bag! It doesn’t matter if Piker is controversial or not, because it doesn’t bring the gas prices down. I understand Piker is speaking about subjects that no one has the balls to talk about, about the actions and involvement of the USA. in all the atrocities around the world, stamped and funded by this country! At the end of the day, vote in November. Focus. The goal is to flip the tables. Vote for Progressives, but vote. Don’t stay on the sidelines if you don’t like what we see everyday since Trump took office.

100%! Dinosaur Democrats with zero policy ideas (except to keep their corporate donors happy) are the ones focusing on Piker incessantly with the mainstream media amplifying Piker. Michiganders do not know or care about Piker.... El-Sayed has been wise not to take the bait.

In germany we know that the US is the biggest threat to the world 🤣. The US is far worse than Alqaida, its a fact.

My wife is from the Philippines, she complains about corruption all the time. I have told her- because I believe it, that the USA is *professionally* corrupt.

After roughly 3000 people were killed in the 9-11 attacks, we started a global "War on Terror" that served as a very convenient rationale for killing hundreds of thousands of people. We also created an Orwellian "Department of Homeland Security" that has eroded personal freedom here in our so-called "homeland". We're so deep in denial about our own atrocities that if anyone even mentions them, they get attacked for being un-American. Talk about supporting terror - look no further than Central and South America to see all the murderous dictators we've supported and the horrors they've committed with our strategic and tactical help. And yes, Indonesia, Vietnam, Iran under the Shah ... the list is long and still growing.

People, most importantly democrats, must be able to see through the bullshit being created here. Piker is a Twitch streamer. He rambles, pontificates, expounds and rants for hours on end, every day and about all kinds of things, including politics. The smear attacks against him are subterfuge, picking short sentences out of lengthy and often complex diatribes to his followers, and then warping the meaning into some kind of twisted gotcha. It is beyond ridiculous that anyone buys into this nonsense.

Not saying Piker isn't controversial. He's a Twitch streamer! That's how he gets views, likes, followers and sponsors. He's not someone I listen to but I have listened to him. And he's not the evil boogey man he's being made out to be. I can't believe this is something people still fall for.

If the point is objectively correct (and it absolutely is, regardless of whether Abdul El-Sayed agrees with it), why on earth is it controversial?

Also they (very much including the dems) never went this hard against joe rogan even though everything he said between 2016 and 2024 was infinitely more stupid and ridiculous and offensive than anything Hasan Piker has said.

And yet Democrats love to appear on Rogan's show(looking at you, Gavin Newsom).

Seriously? Anyone even debating this fact? The US hides behind it's own definition of terrorism which conveniently states it only applies to non-state actors! Ah ha, hence it says we cannot be terrorists - in spite of the millions of innocent deaths we are responsible for. Effing hypocrites.

Piker tells the truth on this, even if it’s not what Americans want to hear. Just this year we’ve also blown up I think 230 people we say we’ve suspected of running drugs. No trials. No charges. Just the immediate death penalty. Saves a lot of legal expenses, right?

Everyone should read Gangsters of Capitalism

Reading Piker's rightly dissected comments, he is 100% correct! How many Americans have also killed other Americans? The colonizers slaughtered the Indigenous people & continue to kill Black & Brown people. Another commenter here reference the DHS who have killed God only knows how many people? I said this last week: Biker is NOT running for office. He has opinions...as do most people.

Not surprising that Axios would do this. They used to be a progressive entity; they've become right wing.

You can see what Piker is doing - cutting through with documented reality at volume, for an audience that isn’t reading Substack or watching congressional testimony. He is speaking to a group whose language responds to his style. This is legitimate work even when the packaging is loud. The facts don’t change based on who’s delivering them or how.

What’s frustrating in the El-Sayed situation is that he knows this. His background, his work, his primary campaign - none of that suggests someone who genuinely disagrees with what Piker said. Which means The deeper issue is that distancing from Piker while aligning with Jeffries sends a single coherent message to a constituency that recognizes that their being managed.

The people watching didn’t just notice what he said about Piker. The voters who showed up for El-Sayed aren’t confused about what those moves signal. The question being asked is whether he’s trading a motivated base for institutional support that may not fully materialize — which is a losing trade in a race where turnout among younger and progressive voters is the variable he can least afford to lose.
