Democratic leadership of Schumer is especially harmful.

Graceful retirement, as soon as possible.

Once again, we see that Schumer support a candidate that the people don't want. Schumer needs to go.

Along with all the other AIPAC / corporate puppets.

We need all progressives to take over the Democratic Party.

I am delighted to hear that Janet Mills is out. The last thing we needed was another elderly Senator (and I'm 70, so I'm allowed to say that!).

Couldn’t agree more! And I’m 75.

I believe this time Susan Collins will be truly concerned :). Having Platner's voice in the senate will be a game changer!

Hopefully, the first of many dominoes to fall. The corporate epstein-class democrats need to exit stage right, along with all of the republicans that have enabled our current mess. Go Platner!

That crusty old corporate twat couldn’t even endorse him, I heard?

Platner. Need some good news after the Just Us Roberts ruling. Or Just A$$ Roberts. Vote. Too big to RIG. Big numbers like the Hungarians. Orban couldn't ignore it.

Harry Truman wasn't a conventional politician either, yet he got elected and after FDR died, Truman stewarded us through the end of the war and the early years of the Cold War. With Truman, you always knew where he stood, and he didn't take any guff from anyone.

He wasn't a Maine oysterman, though. Truman was a haberdasher, that is, he had his own mens' clothing store. When he got into office from Missouri, he got in his car and drove south to see what was going on with the producers of war supplies in the southern states. With his reports, which were damning, he rose rapidly in national awareness and approval, hence his selection by FDR as his Vice-President.

I have a really good feeling about Platner and hope to heck he gets elected!

Very encouraging news. Have you also looked to Kansas? Reverend Adam Hamilton has announced candidacy for the Senate seat there.

Corporate Democrats like Martin, Schumer and Jeffries need to wake up and pay attention to what Democrats want. What good does is do for Democrats to win the House and the Senate and to continue to throw the fight time and again? It is clear that what we don't want and never really did want is a Democratic party that operated as Republican-lite or as full out Republican.

Mainers have been pretty clear. We’re fed up and expect the Democratic Party to be democratic again.

Nah, There’s No Racism In America: Nazi Republican SCOTUS

As was expected the heavy handed Federalist Society laden SCOTUS has now completely eroded the VRA in yesterday's ruling in Louisiana v Callais delegitimizing Section 2(https://bit.ly/4t1r7Lx) The conservative Court has been hard at work to get rid of the last of the VRA for the last 20+ years and they finally accomplished what chief justice Roberts(when appointed in 2005 he made VRA a target) has called “unnecessary” rights of minority groups since the country has moved far beyond where it was in the 1960’s In essence the court has leaned on the idea that racism no longer exists, giving it the excuse to get rid of voting rights protections in red heavy states

Now that the Court has ruled so this puts in play many red states legislatures to gerrymander the heck out of their already gerrymandered maps to increase the numbers of CNPP(Christian Nationalist Ped Party) reps in these states As the has said over the decades the VRA gave unfair advantage to the Democrats and now that the VRA has been dismissed, it’s time for the Nazi Republicans to make hay

This is even more reason for heavy voter turnout for the midterms to show the CNPP that immorality, lying, and fraud are not what WE the People want our government to be about In her dissent, Kagan said that under the court’s decision, “a State can, without legal consequence, systematically dilute minority citizens’ voting power” It’s time for SCOTUS reform to dilute the power of the court and make it more reflective of the American people’s opinion as racism is NOT dead in America and WE the People deserve righteous representation not partisan gerrymandering Show Up To VOTE
