How on earth did these moderate democrats allow themselves to be so easily manipulated by the Gop when they had them by the balls!! I am Thoroughly disheartened at cowardice of Dems who voted with GOP traitors to reopen government after no healthcare provisions addressed in terms of keeping ACA intact without catastrophic rises in premiums which are now inevitable

Yes of course the Democrats caved. What else would you expect. The democrats are weak with no spine. The republicans are strong with no spine . Neither party is with a feral crap. Americans have got to pull their head out of their ass. Your country is about to self destruct as you are consumed with Nazi mania. You have no political system and no understanding what Nazis will do to this world. Come Remembrance Day, American soldiers will be spinning in their grave because their citizens will have forgotten and soiled their sacrifices to keep America Free. Shame on you all.

Yes, it sure does look like the Dems caved. The three senators who pushed the negotiations are Angus King (independent caucusing with Dems), Jean Shaheen and Maggie Hassan. The traitor who has been voting on the CR with the R’s this whole time is Catherine Cortez Masto. The ones who will probably cave are John Fetterman, Gary Peters (retiring), Chuckles Schumer and disappointing Dem Kirsten Gillibrand. 🤬🤬🤬

It’s utterly maddening that the 7 Dems and Angus King haven’t learned that we’re not living in a “politics as usual” environment…that the PedoPrez and his clan can’t be trusted. Schumer needs to be ousted. Maybe Jeffries as well if he can’t hold the House Dems together against the Prez’s covenant eyes, purity pledge houseboy Mikey. The cowardice of these wimps is disgusting.

I am stunned. This was the last thing I would have expected, especially after the remarkably strong showing of Democrats across the board in the election last week, a bellwether repudiation of the economic stupidity, cruelty, arrogance, disdain for the Constitution and rule of law endemic to Trump and Trumpism, perhaps even a modest, but very real, mandate for Democrats and Democratic values. Now after last night's cave by Sen. King, et al, the excitement I felt generated by the Democratic "Blue Wave" is sapped and feels made impotent by what seems like masochistic sabotage or self immolation at the hands of a few Democratic senators who don't seem to understand when they were winning and what they were winning. And yes, right now it is about winning because if we don't win, we can't serve and if we can't serve, we can't do.

They did cave on the shutdown. Discussion done.

Why on earth they did so is beyond me:

1) Dems are NOT being blamed for the shutdown.

2) Republicans refused to negotiate altogether.

What sort of a message are they sending to Trump? Essentially they're telling Trump that they're willing to fold even if Republicans literally offer them nothing.

Not only was it wrong for them to fold, I would strenuously argue that it would have been pointless to for the Democrats to negotiate with the Republicans at all given what they did last time: namely promise things to Democrats, and then unilaterally reneged on that deal when Trump just unilaterally refused to spend the money appropriated for X.

Short of the Democrats negotiating that all appropriations be placed into a trust fund controlled by an independent entity to disburse the funds accordingly to law, the Dems should not have stepped foot in a negotiation room. To capitulate is beyond pathetic.

I just heard that ALL eight of them receive cash donations from the corporate owners of the airlines. So I guess they were told vote to open because we are set to lose big time, with the holiday season of Thanksgiving and xmas coming up. Or no more money. They always get bailed out too! Also all 8 are not up for reelection or are retiring so I guess this was one more kick at the cat to get their nest egg. Hard to tell the diff between the rethugs and the dems anymore. They are all self-serving bastards. The party needs new blood, these oldies are too cowardly to stay in the fight! The people should force them all out and elect fighters up and down the ballot for ANY SEAT!

Cheeto And Reagan’s Rugged Individualism

WE the People are a community who help one another out when each other are in need WE see this moral principle as living in a society who help those in need

WE the People want helpfulness not hopelessness WE the People want our power back after the the Nazi/GOP is trying to take away nutritional assistance and supplemental health insurance premiums for Obamacare/Affordable Care

What started this moral issue was Reagan who claimed the fictional welfare queen a millstone around the government's neck which was meant to charge the GOP electorate But Hollywood cowboy Reagan and B actor pushed the image of rugged individualism This approach is antithetical to community It’s okay if billionaires get a tax break because they can afford to be a rugged individual But for the rest of us?

Cheeto took the rugged individualism a step further As a malignant narcissist he doesn’t care about anybody else but himself, the real rugged individual
