With continued declining polling numbers it's abundantly clear that the Nazi Republicans are now just trying to mitigate a poor election outcome into becoming a massive tsunami disaster.
In every category which ever way one looks at it, giving $$ to the wealthy and increasing the wealth gap in this country meanwhile taking a sledgehammer to the social safety net, is not going to be a winning proposition for the Nazis.
WE the People are angry that policies not making average working American's lives better(BTW that's what the federal government is supposed to do) and being lied to by Der Fuhrer so he can destroy our government and stay out of jail, needs to have a electoral reckoning.
But WE need to mobilize and decimate this fascist movement. WE need to talk to our friends, neighbors, family, and to anyone who will listen to US that WE can begin to collectively take our country back in the upcoming midterms in November. If one wants to join like minded souls, join a local Indivisible group to lend more power to your voice. This is an all hands on deck moment.
Regarding your comments on propaganda from the media...In 1949, Rodgers and Hammerstein addressed this in South Pacific. Here are the lyrics from the song, "You've Got to be Carefully Taught."
The focus on Trump distracts from the authoritarian cult that has been around him and will continue after he is gone. The threat of a takeover of power from the Republican Party is the real threat, and they have installed judged and anti-democracy bureaucrats across the country to prevent them from being challenged in their power grab. Their attack on higher education, the judiciary, the justice system, and elections will ensure that no serious challenge to their power will emerge in the near future. Democracy as we know it, at least, is already lost, unless a huge swing occurs in the next midterm elections, large enough to overcome the massive advantage that the fascists have created for themselves. If the Republicans control the House in 2028, there is NO CHANCE they will seat a legitimately elected Democratic president. (Given the lack of consequences to state actors who tried to overturn the will of the voters in 2024, Im not even sure a Democratic-controlled House can prevent a takeover in 28) Anyone who believes they won't try to overturn an election in 28 has not been paying attention, or is hopelessly naive. The question is not, can we survive Trump--we already lost that challenge in 2024. The question now is, can we stop the Republicans from seizing power that they will never relinquish.
I have zero faith this country will ever do the right thing when it couldn't even be bothered to put the treasonous fucks known as the Confederacy to the sword. Every single thing being perpetrated by the scumbags in power today is a direct extension of that singular decision.
Thank you for mentioning the religious extremism of the scotus 6 as being a major driver of their behavior. I e been saying this for years since the likelihood of Scalia and Alito being members of Opus Dei. A dangerous extremist organization if there ever was one
More like can it rebuild from Trump and both major parties failing the Americans, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Iran, and so many other places around the world while kowtowing to the terrorist state of Israel. Stop letting the corrupt Democratic Party off the hook with
I've known about the Triangle Shirt Waist Fire for years. I wonder if the Epstein Files is our version of that horror. It seems that the immigrant horror isn't enough? Maybe what happened to white girls, and only white ones, is all that matters to so many?
When Richardson spent thirty minutes in a fawning interview with Joe Biden during his presidency, she lost all credibility in my view. And during the Biden admin, she criticized only the Republicans and loved Biden. Pathetic. Trump and his fellow fascists are of course a hige challenge. But so are the Democrats whose weak and ineffectual opposition was a key factor in Trump's success. This interview does not add much to moving things forward.
“We’re on a knife’s edge” is exactly the right image, because this moment is not asking for nostalgia. It is asking for citizenship. The founders gave America a beginning, not a guarantee. Every generation has had to decide whether democracy is a living practice or just a museum word we dust off on holidays. Trump exposed how fragile the guardrails were, but he also exposed how many people still care enough to rebuild them. The question is not whether democracy can survive in theory. It is whether we are willing to become its immune system.
Absolutely the wrong question. Of course it can! Will it? I think it will and I think, in the long run, Trump has exemplified all the threats the founders saw to the republic, and that we all swept under the rug since the Civil War. We owe him a debt. No one else could have made so clear the stakes when you allow "anyone" to be president with no restraints. Only a fool could fail to see what needs to be done. As HCR says, most colonists ddin't see themselves as Americans, as opposed to Englishmen. If we can make a revolution out of that, we can damn sure make one out of Trump.
The GREATEST country? Really John, the feminist revolution was late, and incomplete, still NO PAY EQUITY, ongoing sexual assault and harassment, ongoing racism, lack of national healthcare, egregious wealth inequity, loss of bodily autonomy, voting rights, and homo and transphobia….so much to do, re-do.
Hang the conservatives on the SCOTUS. They do not dictate what the presidential duties are. Article II is clear on what those duties are. They chose to ignore the constitution, including that they have no authority to rule over rights and Article III, Section 2 restricts them to law and equity. Hang them.

You've got to be taught to hate and fear
You've got to be taught from year to year
It's got to be drummed in your dear little ear
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be taught to be afraid
Of people whose eyes are oddly made
And people whose skin is a different shade
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be taught before it's too late
Before you are six or seven or eight
To hate all the people your relatives hate
You've got to be carefully taught
You've got to be carefully taught

How about doing this same interview with Rebecca Nagle and Isabel Wilkerson.

Yes, but it will take decades.

Love hearing the historical context from Heather. Great interview.
"They" are the Republican Party. It is the internal enemy.
