Trump Dances on Rob Reiner’s Grave
Even for President Donald Trump, this is sickening.
On Sunday, news broke that acclaimed Hollywood filmmaker Rob Reiner and his wife, Michele Singer Reiner, were found stabbed to death in their Los Angeles estate. By Monday morning, the president of the United States – widely known for his cruel policies and a penchant for celebrating the deaths and grave misfortunes of others – decided to make fun of the late Reiner.
“Rob Reiner, a tortured and struggling, but once very talented movie director and comedy star, has passed away, together with his wife, Michele, reportedly due to the anger he caused others through his massive, unyielding, and incurable affliction with a mind crippling disease known as TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME, sometimes referred to as TDS,” Donald Trump said in a social media post.
“He was known to have driven people CRAZY by his raging obsession of President Donald J. Trump, with his obvious paranoia reaching new heights as the Trump Administration surpassed all goals and expectations of greatness, and with the Golden Age of America upon us, perhaps like never before. May Rob and Michele rest in peace!” he added.
We reached out to several Trump administration officials, advisers, and close allies immediately after the president posted that. Only a couple replied, and weren’t even willing to try to justify the comments, off the record or otherwise. The White House did not immediately respond to Zeteo’s request for comment.
Reiner’s son was taken into custody, though authorities have not announced what charges he may face. The deaths are being investigated by law enforcement as homicides.
Of course, it was mere months ago that the Trump administration was ringleading yet another one of its crackdowns on free speech and dissent, with the White House encouraging the ratting-out and punishment of ordinary people who insulted Trump ally and podcaster Charlie Kirk in the wake of his slaying.
Reiner was a well-known Hollywood liberal who despised Trump and his policies. And yet, following Kirk’s murder, Reiner publicly condemned the assassination, describing the “horror” he felt upon learning about it:
During his first year back in power, Trump and his administration officials have sought to harass and punish his critics in the entertainment industry, with one of many examples being that the president openly threatened to launch a criminal investigation of Bruce Springsteen simply because the rock icon said something Trump didn’t like.
But the president’s online outburst on Monday underscored just how quickly the supposed leader of the free world will jump at the chance to dance on your grave – if you dare speak out against him.
