The ex-Biden White House adviser, and loyal ally of Hillary Clinton, clashes with Mehdi on ‘moderates’ vs ‘progressives’ in the Democratic Party, the midterms, Hasan Piker, AIPAC, Netanyahu, and more!
It is not enough to vote democratic because the Repblicans are so bad. Every democrat must be held to account and pushed to the left hard. What Democrats want and need are progressives. Establishment Democrats have shown time and again that they are paid well and exist to maintain the status quo. Democrats have been Repblican-lite and that is unacceptable.
I turned it off about 12 minutes in, after Tanden tried to argue she is not a part of the political establishment. If she is going to be that disingenious within the first 15 minutes, she isn't worth listening to, imo. That was nails-on-chalk-board bad.
Neera is demonstrating how deeply entrenched Israel and AIPAC are in our country and in our legislator. She will absolutely not clearly answer about AIPAC money in our elections. She has to include it with other PACs and water down her criticisms. There exists a great fear of Istael.
To reiterate, when it really matters Democrats throw the fight and that results in maintenue off the status quo. Money in politics shows up as bold corruption by the Repblicans and weakness by Democrats even when Democrats hold all the power.
It is people like Neera Tanden and her ilk that lost the Democratic base to MAGA in 2016 and 2024 and almost in 2020.
These elites with their Ivy league degrees habe no idea how hard it is for average American families to make end meet.
They are paid by AIPAC and they sugar coat all of Israel's actions and demonize people like Bernie Sanders, AOC, Ilhan Omar, and Adul el -Sayed.
Bernie I think would have won in 2016.
Also just my 2 cents the USA and the armed forces are not ready for a female Commander in Chief. So if the Democrats nominate a woman in 2028, I am sorry it is game over.
I hope i am proved wrong because I think AOC would be a great President
It was the corporate, establishment Dems who forgot about working people who opened the door for Trump. Bill Clinton signed off on NAFTA. Hillary Clinton said that the 'cap' could not be raised as a way of securing the solvency of Social Security. Obama bailed out the banks in 2008 instead of helping out millions of homeowners who lost their homes. It was the corporate DNC, a private entity, that engineered shenanigans and screwed Bernie out of the nomination in 2016. Pelosi said that we could not have universal healthcare, yet if you had checked open secrets. org, she was in the list of the top Democratic money takers from the healthcare sector. In 2020 Biden was the top money taker of all from the healthcare industry. Neera Tanden and CAP are a continuation of the establishment Dems. Tanden is intelligent as Mehdi stated in the interview, and has a way of side-stepping a question and being wishy-washy in several of her answers. Medhi did a remarkable job of calling her out on this. Of the three panelists, Danielle and Galen were 'right on' in their assessments, but the third seemed like an extension of Tanden. I think it's really a matter of which candidates truly have the empathy for and the desire to help working people, along with a heart for the good of humanity in general. I am confident that Bernie and the progressives he has endorsed do. A majority of people are desperate for help. Have the establishment Dems learned this lesson - are they willing to help working people? I certainly hope so because our country cannot survive another abomination like Trump.
I liked the audience participation you facilitated and your questioning of Neera Tanden (though she was filibustering at multiple points).
But what a disappointingly majority establishment-y, centrist panel was chosen for this. Why not Amy Goodman, Matt Duss, Wajahat Ali, Naomi Klein,
Jeremy Scahill, Alicia Speri, Elie Mystal , or David Sirota? Why rely on establishment figures to question the establishment instead of giving more of a chance to activists and outsiders (other than the audience)?
Never heard her Neera, speak before. Is she addicted to helium or something? She sounded like a child at the beginning and then as time went on her voice deepened. I wouldn't trust her, she's sounds like she's too full of herself to listen to any criticism. She'll only back a progressive IF they win says it all. She certainly won't help them over her chosen ones that are centre right like her. She can join Chuck and Hakeem out the door when the progressives win because it won't be because of anything they did!
About to watch this now! When I tell you I’ve been refreshing the Head to Head page on Al Jazeera, multiple times a day since this happening, it’s absolutely true and illustrates how I feel about finally getting to see it right now😍🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩😍
I have a visceral reaction to Clintonites like Tanden. I dismiss what they say, from experience. I feel they need to leave public life. She is an apparatchik and an expert shape-shifter who leaves herself much maneuvering room. She says she supports Medicare for All but offers an incrementalist approach. Later, she says Democrats will have to deliver. Deliver what? More incrementalism?
Infuriating to have to engage sincerely with someone who lies so easily. She is a picture perfect reminder of why people hate the democrats. She evades you and plays semantic games to seem progressive, while never engaging with the points that discredit her. And then suddenly she's willing to engage on polls when it's about immigration and something she can use to move the party rightwards
Last question is how much she smells of alcohol, or is cynical enough to put on the performance

No offense intended, you expected a different outcome from her?

She's just another corporate Dem elite who MUST GO. Thanks for highlighting this Mehdi!

UGH!!!!!
What a pompous condescending jackass! SSDD!
Can't handle the truth?

CAP is now “liberal.” You’ve got to be kidding. How are you defining liberal these days.
*More liberal” vs. “more moderate” - What’s that? How about MORE CONSERVATIVE, Neera?

She was so uncomfortable the whole time. Excellent work as always.
My question is why are House members of the Democratic Party being allowed?
