One of my college roommates took a "jr. year abroad," if you will. She went to Barnard (NY was quite different than Massachusetts in 1966). That was 59 years ago. At the time, I was the only non-Jewish person of our roommates, five of us. SDS was active at that time, just beginning, in fact, if I correctly recall. The Free Speech Movement had begun a year earlier at Berkeley, closer to my home in Los Angeles. My roommates were all from MA or NY/NJ.
Life was different then, but I felt smacked in the head by what has happened at Columbia since October, 2023. It was as if I were all of a sudden living in upside-down world. I still have difficulty understanding what has happened to our society. The inability to honor and respect all people who are not seeking the death of others is beyond me. We all deserve to live free lives, to fulfill our potential, to honor our own traditions and respect the traditions of others.
Why is this so hard? My "Barnard" roommate died in December, 2024. I miss her deeply. We came from different backgrounds; and still we loved and respected each other. As we all should. I weep for the pain you have suffered, so unfairly.
There was a trend in American education of children telling teachers they were going to get them fired, over stupid stuff. Now they've all grown up. Jeez, when I was a kid, if your kid dissed a teacher, you'd diss the kid. I'm not trying to be frivolous here. What's changed?
Spoiled, entitled brats that are children of spoiled entitled brats who believe they were chosen by some god to be superior to everyone else. That's who's universities are catering to. Look up Mothers Against College Antisemitism for a dose of NY and North Shore of Chicago Karens harassing students across the country for speaking truthfully about genocide. You are correct, it's all about Israel and its hold on the premiere US education system. It did not start with Barnard and Columbia. In history, it was Governor Ronald Regan of California, yes a Republican who stopped/reduced funding to the UC system so they had to start charging tuition from the students (Yes at one point in time there was no in-state tuition in California)(Free education); subsequently they introduced loans and student loan mafia which now nationally is a massive $1.77 Trillion.
Well-off individuals joined with foundations as part of the Endowment system, and the Alumnae, the emails and spam you keep receiving, now control the boards of all elite universities.
To fix the system, all education must be tuition-free, which will enable freedom of speech on campus.

Zionists cry all day and night about being victims. They own everything and pretend that they are helpless. If the devil exists, it is in these creatures.
What this means is that all foreign students are no longer safe in the U.S. With a recession, maybe depression coming, any non-citizens will be targets for the anger of the Americans standing in line at the food banks. My advice is to get out now, while you still can. If you need to finish this semester, do so with your head down and never travel anywhere alone now. Once this semester is finished, leave the country and find another university to attend next fall, in a safer country. Things are only going to get worse from here on out so stay safe as best as you can. Keep a bug out bag packed ready to grab at a moments notice and be on the lookout for ICE agents who may be stalking people. If you can set up a safe place to run to ahead of time, in case they come after you, do so and run as fast as you can if they come, then figure out a way to leave the country. Like that young Indian lady who fled to Canada a couple of weeks ago.
This is the new United States under the MAGA regime. Foreigners are not safe anymore. By the way, this applies to tourists as well. No one from outside the U.S. is safe in the U.S. anymore.
These bloated, overpriced, and outmoded institutions are now demonstrating their absolute moral decadence. I hope prospective students take note and choose state schools or trade schools instead. And I hope Columbia is sued into nonexistence for its horrific treatment of its students.
