I am glad to learn who Dean Phillips really is despite Steve Schmidt pushing him. Conversely I am sad to learn who many democrats really are.

WOW! I knew to expect lunatic reactions and our Dem "leaders" should be drummed out, but honestly the one that takes the cake is "all jews should leave nyc". This is like straight out of a stand up parody. Thank you for the hilarity!

I'm not American, but this feels like a (albeit small) significant shift.

Thanks for the humor, it’s always nice to laugh at Trump style morons. Zohran Mamdani’s win is a breathe of fresh air, makes me wish I still lived in Brooklyn.

The reaction to Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the NYC primary, as highlighted in the recent Zeteo article, reveals something deeper than political disagreement. It exposes how Islamophobia remains one of the most normalized and unchallenged forms of bigotry in American public life.

Zohran's win is not just a political success. It is a moment of hope for working-class people across backgrounds. It shows that voters are ready for leadership rooted in compassion, justice, and moral clarity. This should be welcomed, not attacked.

Islamophobia Must Be Named and Confronted

While all forms of hate are wrong, Islamophobia operates with a unique force. It is reinforced through government policies, media narratives, and social suspicion. Muslims are not just criticized for what they say or do, but for existing as visible believers in the public square. That is unacceptable.

The hate directed at Mamdani is not about policy. It is about punishing a Muslim for standing up boldly, by faith and by principle, for the rights of the oppressed. This includes his advocacy for Palestinian human rights, which has been unfairly smeared as antisemitic.

Antisemitism is Real, But Its Weaponization Must Stop

True antisemitism should always be condemned. But we must also challenge how institutions like the ADL have broadened the term to include nearly any criticism of Israel. This erases meaningful dialogue and punishes moral clarity.

When Palestinians, Muslims, Jews, and people of conscience criticize Israeli policies or support calls for justice, they are not promoting hate. They are opposing occupation, apartheid, and war. Calling this antisemitism undermines the real fight against hate and injustice.

An Islamic Ethic of Justice

As Muslims, we are taught to stand firmly for justice, even if it is against ourselves. That includes defending the dignity of all people, and speaking clearly when harm is done.

At the same time, we do not have to compromise our religious convictions. Islam teaches that same-sex acts are sinful, but also teaches that every human being deserves dignity, protection from harm, and freedom from hatred. Disagreement does not justify violence or abuse. Judgment belongs to Allah, not to us.

A Path Forward

Call out Islamophobia wherever it appears, especially in politics and media

Defend the right to criticize governments, including Israel, without being falsely accused of hate

Stand on principle without compromising compassion

Build unity with those committed to justice, even if we do not agree on every matter

Conclusion

Zohran Mamdani’s victory is a win for moral courage. The backlash is a reminder that Islamophobia is still thriving, even among those who claim to fight hate. Our response must be rooted in truth, not fear. In justice, not compromise. In faith, not silence.

May Allah guide us toward what is just and protect us from injustice in all its forms.

Well done!

All the racist, white, European men (and the women who love them) are out of their minds! They feel emboldened by the racist felon they voted for (their "King" for life) and they will do whatever it takes to maintain power... but, the people have spoken and they all need to shut the f__k up!
