All the things that the republicans are doing under trumps leadership should shame all Americans. The politicians of both parties have no honour as long as they let this go on. Once freedom is lost it will take a war, like Ukraine is experiencing to get it back. The same enemy of Ukraine is now aligned with your American president. Will you have your protest and then go on with your daily life as if that's the end of it I wonder? Then think of Ukraine who already fought and won their freedom and because the enemy wasn't vanquished they came and attacked them again. trump is willing to help them this time. It should disgust you! It should also open your eyes to YOUR fate if trump isn't deposed. He doesn't care about the USA. He cares about making money out of other peoples suffering. Ukraine, Gaza! You will wait for "free and fair elections" that won't happen. Then you will protest again but by then you may not have the right to protest.

Since Democrats are in the minority in Congress, they're doing what they can, but could do more like scream from the rooftops every single lie, illegal action, and the corruption coming out of the WH. The lower courts are doing what they can to hold trump back and to account, but the right-wing justices of the SCOTUS are also spineless and corrupt as hell and typically rule in his favor. The American people, at least those of us who haven't been brainwashed by the furor, are trying to stop this trainwreck to our democracy in every way we know how, but I know it's not going to be enough. I know we will never have a 'fair and free' election again, the maga party is already taking steps to stop '26 from happening, remember they have the military on their side, we don't. Unless the military is willing to ignore illegal orders, we have no way to stop them from interfering in the election. I can't dispute anything you said but what do you suggest we do?
What I would suggest is probably illegal. Definitely illegal! Lol. Aside from the MAGA contingent there's also the holy rollers. Vought and Hegseth particularly are in a religious cult! Some kind of Handmaids tale belief system. Women shouldn't have the vote. They should always obey their husband or else be punished. These are real religious control freaks. Their views on peoples rights and wanting to have a country that's all white should not be taken lightly. trump just wants all the money he can grift so they keep him happy with that then they can run the country. Breaking his enablers seems like the best line of attack because trump's a weakling and doesn't know shit about anything. I'm not so sure the military will act on his orders to fight their own citizens, though there's probably some MAGA among them too. How this one man has managed to put the entire world into a tailspin, to the point of excusing dictators and throwing away allies is beyond me. He might as well be working for the "other side." He wont care if WW3 breaks out! If he were anybody's normal grandpa they'd have stuck him in an institution by now!

I will continue to post these weekly summaries to my FB page but now I pick out certain items that need to be reiterated, or that just piss me off, and comment on each one. I don't know if anyone reads the post but at least I know I did my part in conveying what trump and his toadies are doing. One thing that really gauls me are the cold-blooded murders trump is committing by bombing the boats in international waters. I keep hearing that it 'may' be illegal, which is bullshit, of course it's friggin' illegal! I want to know why trump isn't being held accountable for this. For all we know, these guys could be out fishing or just going for a ride, there is NO proof that they're drug smugglers, and, even if they were, they're certainly not going to make it to our shores in a speed boat. Can anyone shed some light on the illegality and who holds trump accountable for this? It has to stop!

Isn't it wonderful living under an administration whose sense of empathy, humanitarianism and concern for the well-being of the worlds most needy as it is for for those who reside within its own borders; an administration guided by the Constitution it is sworn to serve and protect and who, without fear or favor, honors the rule of law and applies it fairly and judiciously, believing that Justice is blind; an administration which strives, imperfectly as it has been in all administrations before it, to eliminate racism, sexism, misogyny, xenophobia, homelessness, poverty, ignorance and other social ills which plague humanity; an administration which honors and values the separation of powers, the separation of church and state, provides for the common welfare and the National Defense, and much more; an administration committed wholeheartedly to freedom of speech, freedom to assemble, freedom of the press, freedom from want and fear, freedom to dissent and more.
Obviously, what I've written so far is, very sadly, facetious. It is also very poignant but I can remember quite easily, given that I am now in my '70s, that all I've written above really was what most administrations would strive for and what 'We the People' had come to expect. In case anyone hasn't noticed, we are dead center at a fork in the road where I am wistfully and longingly looking down the road most traveled and the president, his cabinet, et al, have started on the other being led by Stephen Miller who's about 50 yards in front of them. The sun is out and it's warm but to me the sky looks cold and gray and I feel a massive shiver down my spine.
