I appreciate so much about Zeteo, especially as a source of info that doesn't get aired on the MSM .... but someone needs to analyze the entire pod to determine who interrupts the other more - Mehdi or Bassem. I'll bet it's Bassem. It's good to have freewheeling discussions but the constant interruption distracts from the important information you provide. Please listen to yourselves and then listen to each other more while having your freewheeling discussions.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how they killed their own people ...gunfire crossfire, tank shellings at houses and cars and apache helicopters firing down at groups of people and fleeing cars. Also, when mentioning israeli hostages which is horrific we should also take the opportunity to mention the palestinian hostages and the mention there were 5,000 PRIOR to oct 7th including children many of who are abducted in the middle of the night in raids from their bed.
Your guest Bassem , although factually correct, in an annoying to listen to in his delivery of facts, constantly interrupted Mehdi when he was trying to state important facts with frequently glib sounding sarcastic comments. We were promised an episode "in LA in shorts" the last episode with Bassem and now? Ever since that last episode all I could think about was Mehdi Hasan in shorts and a Hoodie and what do I get? Nothing, not even a Hoodie..
But in all seriousness, another great episode. I really enjoy the concept of this podcast and the way, they're talking about all the topics, they're covering.
Regarding the "believe women" thing, what Israel actually wants to say but can't is "believe Israel" and is using the sensible topic of rape to bully people into believing them!
The UN report had some problematic parts as well. In the summary they write about sexual violence committed by the Palestinian resistance groups, but didn't specify. And when you read the entire report, they explain what counts as sexual violence. For example, filming female soldiers in their pajamas with their GoPro cameras (which is inappropriate, dont get me wrong) is seen as sexual violence and they made it quite clear that there is no evidence of raped women, except people claiming others have been raped.
Shari Mendez, the woman who they talk about raised several 100k dollars with her now debunked claims about October 7 and made it pretty clear that her goal was to fundraise and start a media career off of this!
And using the threat of rape to manipulate the population us not that new. Here in Germany, when the Russians fought the Nazis inside Germany and liberated Germany, the Nazi governemnt told German women to "not let the Russians get you, they will rape you to death" so a lot of women committed suicide by jumping feom rooftops the moment Russian soldiers entered the city.
Great episode. Love the 'Karen' remark. So true though. North American Media doesn't just lie by stating untrue facts, they also lie by omission. I've watched Global international here in Canada and then see the same report on Al Jazeera or DW News and their report has additional content which VERY CLEARLY changes the narrative. I fight constantly with family about what really happened there because all they are seeing is lies or incomplete stories. Infuriating. Frustrating.
Oh My God From President Biden all the way to blinken to Neten yaho to galant - all are big huge lairs. And when their lies are out you cannot ask them to apologise nor question them nor prosecute them in USA or ICC or they even get elected back to run Your countries. How much more down US should reach till they understand what they are doing is wrong and unacceptable.

Regarding whether these discussions make a difference, I saw a discussion between Gabor Maté and Angela Davis a couple weeks ago during which Maté asked Davis how she reconciles the knowledge that conversations such as theirs won't save a single life in Gaza. Her answer (I'm paraphrasing) was that one conversation, one act, one person rarely makes a difference, it's all about the cumulative result of collective effort -- something we struggle to understand in the heavily individualized "west".
The many moments in this that I’ll be clipping. Bass has learnt and educated the world in such a short amount of time. Now think everyone used this same mindset, how educated we could be.
I like Bassem Yousef's comedy but probably he is not the right person for this discussion. A fact checking discussion should be focused only on facts without any emotion and certainly without any humor when the context is so serious. I think the biggest threat for Zeteo is that it should not be branded as a media house spreading misinformation and conspiracies. And for that it is important to focus on the facts and evidence, not on emotions. When you are aligned with the mainstream narrative, your lies can go unchecked, but when you are against that, you have to be very careful with your truth too. All the best.
But the show is We’re Not Kidding where comedians speak with Mehdi about serious topics, with a bit of humour because it is all so heavy. After 9 months, I personally can use a bit of a laugh to break up the horror.
