Good article but it would have been nice to address which justices dissented as I had to look it up separately and wanted to know their basis for dissenting no matter how ill conceived. No surprise it was Kavanagh, Thomas and Alito.
I would categorize this as a capitalist class preservation tactic. They see the sea shifting beneath them towards ousting all of them from power and putting them in the cages they belong in. They are trying to pump the brakes and chill the atmosphere.

I am doubtful this will result in lower prices greedy corporations are interested in increasing their profits. Once a price is raised, it is not lowered unless corporations are forced to do so.
One concern I have with the ruling of the broad tariffs as being illegal is that apparently they would have to be paid back. Paid back to whom, and how? Last I heard was American citizens paid 90% of the tariffs.
