SRK has always been this way, a hired gun with impeccable manners. The vast majority of Bollywood, and certainly all the Khans, remain spectators at best, complicit at worst, in their own community's oppression in India.

WHO is being oppressed in India, other than the INTOUCHABLES, who do NOT follow Islam as far as I know. I heard that there is a vibrant Islamic community in India (just like the one in Iran, (OH sure!) THAT allows Jews to practice freely in Iran. There is no persecution of followers of Islam in India, just like there is no persecution of Jews and Christians for that matter in Iran. There is no prejudice in Israel on any side!. I have some great swamp land in Florida which you can buy from me for cheap. I also bought the HOLY GRAIL, and I am keeping for a while then I promise I will give it to a museum.

You love to insult others except for of course your supporters who are basically the radical Islamic government in Iran who are ALL SAINTS! WRONG!

As they say every one has a price! Sadly SRK has sold his soul to the Almighty Dollar (Rupees). I have no idea what he is going to do with it. He will not be able to spend it in his lifetime. As a suggestion perhaps he should help those that sleep on the street not far from his gated home.

Sadly, greed replaces compassion, and this is apparent in all those who hoard wealth.

This is why celebrity worship is harmful. They are humans and flawed. Power, money and fame corrupts most if not all.

He is a commercial guy doing nothing wrong don’t expect honesty or societal expectations from those kind anywhere in the World. But what about the corrupt Bhuttos, Zardaris, brutal corrupt Military Generals of Pakistan. And also the corrupt Ambanis, Adanis, BJP politicians of India too who steal from their Countries exchequer? Focus on that.

Fatima, are you criticizing him for having a big bullhorn but not using it for your causes, such as inhumane treatment of Palestinians, or in Sudan, or elsewhere?

The most he could do would be to follow Indian foreign policy as he is first and foremost an Indian and lives in the unofficial police State of Modistan.

Yes, he should find ways of generating points of view to counter the local and overseas Israeli propaganda against the Palestinians, however we do need to understand their total intellectual package which is apparent with the three Khans.

Expecting them to act like Mark Ruffalo, Tilda Swinton, or Mehdi is a far cry from realty.

All you would get from these so called stars is a gaudy presentation of their monetary wealth, as that’s all they have to offer.

Fatima this is just Holly-weird Indian style. If someone wants to take his/her opinions from somebody that sells his/her ability to act or dance or sing, then that allows them to proclaim they have a right to use that to enter political ideology, then you will go the way of the States. I give you DJT as an example of where that road leads. Don't give this person any of your ability to write about serious issues. Your article will just give him a higher fee! But too late now, I guess. Your article condemning him just raised his fee! I'm a cynic because I see the world as it is and not as it's "designed" to be seen. Sorry. The richest people in the world LIKE to live LARGE. If people don't notice them then all they have is money! Money is just paper. It's what it represents that's important to them. So they put on a circus to draw peoples attention. "Roll up, roll up, to the greatest show on earth!" I'm rich!

Somewhat off topic, or perhaps slant-wise to it, but I'd love to know the author's, or commenters, opinion of Joe Sacco's new book, "A Once and Future Riot." I thought it was outstanding, but would like further feedback.

I always stick to my belief that there are zero good billionaires. But in the case of india's wealthy, especially the Khans, they lose their spine long before they become billionaires. Very few celebs who attack the right wing media are nowhere near the top of the industry.

Interesting article. SRK, the darling of Bollywood, allows himself to be used as a tool, as you stated, due to his popularity globally. (Is that the price of fame to not make waves out of fear?) Bandwagoning is the oldest advertising technique: SRK supports/uses something, so it must be good, so follow his lead! Tis a shame what the non-celebrities (poor, under educated, etc.,) will do to rub shoulders with the rich and famous just to post a pic, or video, to their social media platforms to get recognition. His soul is up for political, and commercial, sale. Unfortunately, it is what it is.

There are two main points to consider:

First, the Bollywood Khans have the platform to speak out but seem fearful that Modi will unleash his supporters against them. It's disheartening that they appear indifferent, even in light of the loss of 20,000 children's lives.

Second, the term "Holocaust" refers explicitly to the genocide of the Jews. The appropriate term for other mass killings is "genocide."

The term holocaust was in use before the Nazis' version. It does not refer explicitly to the genocide of the Jews.

Cheeto And Denial: How To Listen To Cheeto-speak

For Cheeto denial isn’t a river in Egypt It’s a well honed skill painstakingly developed over years of exhaustive real life experiences of a now demented malignant narcissist Cheeto has become the grandmaster of denial and in so doing has become Liar in Chief

With denial as your tool you can create any reality People are dying in Africa because you stopped PEPFAR funding…..response, no one is dying The cost of living is hurting Americans…..response, affordability is a hoax COVID is a deadly disease…..response, it will be gone by summer Job reports show increasing loss of jobs….response, that can’t be true, I got rid of the dept that reports on that

A pattern has developed over watching this scumbag for 5y in the Oval Office Cheeto is obstinately arrogant about facts that challenge anything that involves him and because of that his tool of denial becomes undeniable He uses it to define any reality that he wants to cultivate….be damned whether that flies in the face of those who are experiencing a COVID death of a loved one or that it’s getting harder to make ends meet Classic gaslighting

But Cheeto is not just one individual The denial tool has become a group think for the entire Nazified Republican party ACA subsidies are going to go through the roof beginning Jan 1, 2026….response, no they’re not At least the billionaires got their tax break
