Now that the fate of these heifers is widely known, surely Hindutva sycophants are going to be doing a 180 on their unequivocal support for Israel any moment now! After all they've been lynching Dalits and Muslims left right and centre in the name of protecting cows!

Mehdi, your analysis of these messianic extremists is spot on. The temple can't be rebuilt until the Messiah comes, and the Messiah can't come until the world is at peace. The dream of their return is perpetually out of reach, necessitating a perpetual pursuit of justice. These dingbats are trying to "win" on a technicality, but really it's just a smoke screen for their greed. They do not speak for all Jews.

I don't think I've watched anything in recent memory that has literally, LITERALLY, made my jaw drop. I'd heard of these fringe ideas, but every community has them. I did not realize they had made their way into Congress.

Never thought I'd be quoting Coldplay in any serious context, but: "when the future's architectured by a carnival of idiots on show, you better lie low.". That being said, thank you both for not lying low and talking about this.

And Mehdi: Thank you for defending religious scripture. We're all entitled to our beliefs, however outlandish they may seem to others, so long as they don't justify us stepping on each others' necks.

Wish this episode was 2.5 or 4 hours long akin to Lex Friedman. Definitely worth deeper dive.

Thanks for covering this incredibly important topic - particularly with light-heartedness. I agree: it's deeply depressing. Al-Aqsa has been attacked by Jewish Zionist extremists multiple times over recent years and is "protected" by the IOF. Unfortunately, I don't think Hamas is far off insofar as there are credible and serious plans to destroy the mosque and build the 3rd temple. In fact the design was on display as of 2014. Further, there is a private museum nearby with the gold plated tools that they will use and the various objects for the alter and artwork that represents the new world post 3rd temple. The main contributors are Christian Zionists from the USA. You are right that it is our duty to check all extremist religious ideologies - if it's not too late.

From burning cows, it's just a short step away to burning witches.

Something like abdicating from the Church of England, Kings, and the separation of church and state? Never mind the Indigenous Peoples that long preceded all of this!

No BS, no lies. Primary sources, just love it. Exposed the hypocrisy in religious and political leaders occupying the high offices. It’s a parade of just shameless leaders.

Scintillating episode filled with humor but at the same time concern regarding the political direction of travel that is being metastasized by toxic and distorted religious narratives. Great work Mehdi and Bassem.

Scary stuff. wondering what another DT presidency will being!

Thank you guys for being there and pointing the obvious.

Religious extremism is an equal opportunity mess. Islamic extremism doesn't have monopoly on it.

John Lennon said the Beatles were more popular than Jesus. The albums were then burned. He then sang “Imagine there’s no religion, it isn’t hard to do.” Good God ya’ll. Why must humans innate spirit always be reigned in by organized religion? As Bassem Youssef asked, why are we practicing religion from ancient times or newly contrived religions in today’s world?

What I don't get is, if zionists are so religious as to believe in God, and part of that faith is believing God is infallible, and that infallibility extends to his divine plan... wouldn't it be sacrilegious to imply that plan isn't moving quickly enough for you? Wouldn't it be the height of ego to imply that human intervention can derail or alter God's plan? Wouldn't you be at all worried that you're lying, cheating, stealing, and killing in order to facilitate the return of God who will then specifically judge you for lying, cheating, stealing and killing??

Another great episode of We’re Not Kidding! This is scary stuff mixing extremist religion with extremist politics. When they burn the red heifers will there be barbecue for the American Christian extremists? I can’t imagine them burning any cow without eating it too! Thanks Mehdi and Bassem, come back soon! ❤️
