Both interviews were great, but as someone of Palestinian Christian heritage through my father, I was particularly interested in Mehdi’s conversation with Reverend Isaac. Once during one of Israel’s previous onslaughts on Gaza, I asked my father-whose family is largely Greek Orthodox-if western evangelicals would be more empathetic to Gazans if they were predominantly Christian instead of Muslim. He said no because they are still Arabs and that they’re the wrong kind of Christians (i.e., Catholic or Orthodox)to care about.
