Really, this has what America has become? A nation where bullies have been given a green light to bully innocent people. Really? A nation that condones disappearing people and welcomed legal guests without due process? A nation that targets vetted young scholars on visas anxious to contribute to a better world? Really? Rounding up young adults who come to America because they believed America is the shining city on the hill? Really? I am so deeply ashamed.

A nation where Democratic leaders say pretty much

‘Our hands are tied, they have the house, the senate and the executive branch.

the people must rise up, not in the tens of thousands, in the hundred of thousands’ Chris Murphy D Senstor of Connecticut, on Foreign Policy Live with Ravi Argawal.

No senstor, you people must rise up.

If you can’t do it on the floor or from your office, get out on the street (like Bernie)

Get on podcasts, get on the news, get a billboard in Times Square.

You say your party has work to do for the midterm elections or for 2028?!!

Are you kidding? You don’t have to sell your brand right now, you have to fight the misinformation and the illegal takeover, the extant constitutional crisis.

Spend your election funds and lead.

I agree. I have been saying with the deportation of the first group to Guantanamo, and then to the El Salvadoran Nazi death camp prison where people are not known to come out alive, is the US's Nazi moment. I also am recommending that Foreign students leave the US. I made sure that my daughter would not be going to University under Trump. She is going in Germany where we have moved. Germany is tuition free for anyone in the world who can get in. You need German language skills for any undergraduate program, but not for many Masters and PhDs. However, unless you live in Berlin, you need German language, so spending a year in a language school, and then pursuing entrance to University is a good idea. I wrote a piece about studying abroad in November. It is more specific about Germany.

https://lindaweide.substack.com/p/study-abroad?r=f0qfn

I have written a piece that talks more broadly about leaving the US to study elsewhere.

I know that John Howard, who lives in France wrote about attending University in Europe as well. Here are his articles.

University Study in Europe.

More about University Study in Europe. Which is more targeted to Americans. Some of whom should surely be leaving the US as well.

The Zionist fascism that we are supporting overseas has made its way back home.

People mistakenly thought America was a free country when in fact it has been occupied by Zionists for decades. It's just now they realized their grip is slipping on the masses, so they are resorting to attacking freedoms and rights just like they've already done in Europe.

It has hit me. This is the Muslim Ban. We know he's been shot down for just banning Muslims from entering--got around that by banning those from a bunch of Muslim COUNTRIES. But some, like the Turkish student or Khalil entering from Lebanon, can't be banned in the get-around way. So they are forced to let them IN if they qualify, but then boot them OUT because our actual foreign policy is to ban Muslims; we just can't talk about it, but we can sure say there are "consequences."

This needs to get in a court where discovery can be rigorously pursued of how any--or each--of this students would have consequences and how specifically their presence here would affect those consequences. (States Secret Privilege incoming, but this really needs some court definition of when this can apply. One CAN"T really invoke a national security concern and then say "but I don't have to give any hints of what that concern is." )

They are starting with the students, both as part of the general attack on universities and because of the "hook" of the protests, where anyone expressing an opinion is vandalizing property or taking over a building. But it will spread. Watch out H1B visa holders.

How would you feel if your trusted friend began talking trash about you?

Americans need to stand up for our allies who are being disgustingly denigrated by the Nazi regime Absolutely distrustful actions that the Orange Nazi strongman bully has made toward our friends Canada, Denmark, and states in Europe In general our allies have begun to cut ties with America with hurt feelings SHAME SHAME SHAME ON AMERICA These countries love and respected us and now they are being disrespected and cultural ties are being severed The fraying of human trust is becoming obvious

Our allies thick and thin are disheartened and dispirited by how their “friend” has treated them and are confused and disappointed Their trust has been breached and it will be hard to ever it get back if ever But the Nazi regime could care less about those who have stood by us through thick and this because they have no loyalty to anyone and are basically immoral Now our allies see America as an adversary

The American people need to WAKE UP and show their outrage at this immoral depravity the the Nazi regime is showing to our once loyal friends who have stood by and with us for 7 decades

Complacency is the enemy to holding onto democracy Protest Donate Encourage friends family neighbors to get involved

So student status is no longer in the hands of the universities, and the visa program is so capricious as to be pointless. Furthermore, without warning or any more than an imaginary pretext, a person can be hustled off to a for-profit gulag incommunicado without any legal recourse. National security my left cheek; this is just systematic racist tormenting to keep the MAGA rubes entertained.

The administration fears these students' intelligence because they can't counter their viewpoints. These students use the same human rights arguments the US has historically used against other countries. They're essentially holding up a mirror to US policy, particularly regarding what they see as US support for Palestinian genocide through weapons supplied to Israel. The administration mistakenly believes that removing human rights supporters will silence opposition to US policies of supporting the Israeli Genocide of the Palestinians

I fear this is just the beginning of a wider campaign to silence dissent against this authoritarian administration. I feel for these students, who must live in fear of ICE abducting them illegally. These actions should be taken as a warning that Trump will not tolerate free speech, unless it is voiced by his regime. Unfortunately, it will take outraged students protesting to enact significant policy changes, as it did during the Vietnam War. I pray we won't witness another Kent State debacle, but I believe Trump is itching for an excuse to enact martial law, in order to advance his Project 2025 agenda unhindered by opposition.

Not just outraged students, corporate, academic, & government LEADERS, and the rest of us…

so these now from other countries they arrest or deport … but others they threaten, dox, intimidate.

They are here. This is the real thing.

It is happening and for all of us.

All power is being concentrated in corporations, including the power to govern, change laws, close entire branches of government.

It’s happening with tweets, emojis, chain saws and car sales while a young attractive blond girl up on a podium is telling (the fourth estate) all the children in the news room to calm down.

What we are seeing is a concerted purge of all middle eastern students, to start with, regardless of status, social media presence or anything else. Remember, Trump thinks these countries are S...thole countries and this is part and parcel of an upcoming ban I read about of about 40 some odd countries on this supposed list. Instead of spending lots of manhours sorting through social media and TV footage for anyone who may have participated in a protest, posted on social media or any other form of dissent of Trump's foreign policies, Israel's policies or any support of Palestine, Hamas, Hezbollah, or anything else they want to flag, it's easier to just deport all of them and not have to worry about it.

Much like enacting blanket tariffs towards everyone in the world, instead of working to sort through targeted tariffs that might actually do some good.

Some soldiers used to say back during the wars, "Just shoot them all and let God sort out who's the enemy or not." This is kind of like that. Just deport them all and let things sort themselves out afterward.

Trump is lazy and doesn't give a damn. Round them all up and send them all home. He doesn't care about the loss of tuition and other money spent by these students, He doesn't care about anything other than keeping his donors happy. And his biggest donors are the Israeli lobbies right now. Which is why these Zionist groups with their lists of deportees, are able to have an inside channel to the state department and Homeland Security.

Now it's up to the judiciary to stop this madness, if they can. Without their own enforcement troops, I, like a lot of people, are asking, how do they plan on enforcing these court orders? So far, they haven't. Trump is running roughshod over the top of these judges so far. The republican legislature is largely absent without leave. How far will he go? Is he daring anyone to stop him since he owns the DOJ, which includes every federal law enforcement entity under the federal attorney general? How does this not look like the start of a slow coup?
