Only 9 turned up for the memorial: chilling. The "shrugger" should be shrugged out of office.

He seems to think that the response to the Iranian military killing Iranian civilians is that we should step in to kill even more.

Let’s just call Fetterman a MAGA republican because that’s pretty much what he is. Mullin is certainly going to get the support he needs because republicans are cowards. And “pain” at home and abroad is all this regime and has been interested in doing, even before the election.

Fetterman is the reason why there should be a functional mechanism for voters to pull a senator out of their office if they ran their campaign being one person, then flip immediately after being elected to the exact opposite.

It’s one thing to exaggerate and lie about things you can/will accomplish, but Fetterman’s campaign was like false advertising. People elected a progressive democrat, not a pro-Israel pro-war pro-Trump MAGgot.

We need to take a page from the parliamentary system and be able to hold elections when the people have lost trust in their sitting elected officials.

I absolutely agree with you-we shouldn’t be stuck for 6 years with a Senator who lied to get into office.

To say Mullin has the brain of a sea sponge is to insult to those ancient creatures; at least they do no harm. How can anyone vote for a man not worthy to be a street sweeper? Would any sane person hire this man for anything?

Thank you for the article. I was on my way to the SAVE act protest in front of the Senate steps (which I only heard about through word of mouth) but passed the people setting up the memorial on my way. By the time I headed back to the metro, the Capitol Police had made it impossible for me to trace my steps so I took another route back to the metro. It was very heart wrenching and please know it had its effect on me, a serial protester of every outrage. If I had known about the event, I would have attended.

Oh Prem Thakker! Lack of manners, lack of heart, lack of thought, lack of anything resembling a human soul! Where are the anti-war democrats? Only a handful of human beings in the entire congress? All over the world, people are weeping for those lost girls, and these Representatives could not take a few steps out of their way, and a few minutes out of their day to be human?

“Our government may have done something terrible. We want the truth.”

I'm glad somebody is saying this but could this not be true for the last 3 years?

To be fair, this was a performative bit of political theater. We need the Congresscritters to actually DO something like show up in the chambers and stop the right wing corporate take over of America. And we need to challenge them for failing to do that.

It is not lost on us far left libs that Mr. Owens refused to answer your question about the girls killed by our Tomahawk missile unless you answered his questions about the 40,000 people killed by the Iranian government BECAUSE THEY PROTESTED THEIR GOVERNMENT. In what universe does attacking a nation for killing it's civilians square with the attacker (us, of course!) killing even more civilians? The Iranian protesters who were killed likely understood the risk they were taking. Did those schoolgirls, or their parents, understand that going to school would mean death? Trump's rationale is so thinly veiled it's obscene. He wants Gaza. He wants to build a megalithic city of gold with golf and casinos and rich white people everywhere. Did his bestie, Bebe, pinky swear that if Trump would help him take out Iran, he would let Trump make a theme park of the genocidally-emptied Gaza? Read AN INDEGENOUS PEOPLES' HISTORY OF THE UNITED STATES by Roxanne Dunbar-Ortiz, and you will perfectly understand that what we are doing in Iran is what we've always done: murder the people, take their land, and sully the name of God by calling it all Manifest Destiny. Thank you for the hard work you do, Prem. It's needed.

I’d like to know who the 9 congress members were so I can thank them.

Only nine? Shame on Congress. They should all have attended in sack cloth and ashes
