Maybe that anonymous house republican should have more of a backbone and stand up to this fascist regime. Everytime I hear the comment from dems saying the gop is scared and that they thank the dems for doing what's right it makes me boil.

Wtf is so right on the AI mural. Renee waa a good person trying to help her neighbors out. The domestic terrorist was inviting violence and had a knife on her.

Thank you for bringing up Sudan. We do not hear about what is going on there.

I am stunned that there are multi-millionaires showering racists and murderers with money...how are we going to live together...epstein files must get out to the public ...the escalation of violence is the regimes distraction by chaos...Pentagon Papers hero is needed now to drop them to the public

Leaves me wondering whether anyone in the media has a basic understanding of the Constitution and the structure of our government. Please stop talking about war crimes. We’re not in a war. (Does this really need to be said)? The first strikes that killed people in the Caribbean were murders, no less than the “double-tap” strike. Why are you accepting the Trump Administration’s claim that we’re at war, thereby ceding him war powers without any involvement by Congress? These actions are illegal under domestic and international law, but not because they’re war crimes — they’re murders. Were those people in the boats armed? Were they members of the Venezuelan military? Last night a former member of the military and a JAG officer stated very clearly on MS NOW that these are murders, not war crimes. She was accused by the MS NOW host of “not seeing the forest for the trees.” The host instead deferred to a Georgetown U law professor who embraced the war crimes meme. And the public gets blamed for ignorance about the structure of its own government. It appears the media missed those classes too. If Zeteo can’t do any better than the dreadful MS NOW, I’ll have to reconsider my subscription.

UH, what is MS NOW? I agree about Venezuela. Our media is also not showing the tens (maybe hundreds) of thousands protesting in V for the release & return of Maduro, which I watched at a teach-in on Venezuela's history leading up to this on Sunday. We sure do have to travel afar for the truth these days! They don't want us "gringos" there, which many oil company execs "get."

International law went down the toilet when Biden approved 2,000 lb. bunker bombs to be sent to Israel, so they could be dropped on the homes of civilians, killing whole families & scores of innocents at one time. That (incremental) genocide, which is still ongoing, gave the green light to Trump & his goons to commit all the atrocities they are committing now. MAINSTREAM MEDIA SUPPORTS THE GENOCIDE, including publishing BS about a "ceasefire" which doesn't exist! Now, they tiptoe around the man & the regime that will take them on OR take them out, if they utter or print a wrong word.

I'm grateful to SUBSTACK and the many moral, courageous & bright minds here.

MS NOW is the new (i.e., recent) name for the cable tv news program that used to be MSNBC. It holds itself out as liberal, if not progressive. It’s really neither, in my opinion. it’s more like the propaganda arm of the right-wing of the Democratic Party, that is, the wing that unconditionally supports Israel. Its most recognizable hosts have not uttered the word “Gaza” in two years of genocide. (I actually researched this to make sure I hadn’t missed something. I hadn’t). I believe Medhi once worked at MSNBC, but that’s his story to tell. They do occasionally have good guests on, like the former JAG officer I mentioned. Interestingly, I attended an anti-ICE protest this evening and two women right behind us said they worked for MS NOW. (The protest was also a vigil for Renee Good). They asked me whether I wanted to be interviewed, but I declined. I did suggest that they do more (some?) coverage of Gaza and they were gracious, saying feedback was good. Their bosses probably wouldn’t like the idea though.

Thanks Nancy. I occasionally still listen to Chris Hayes... but mostly agree. I stopped watching MSNBC when Mehdi Hasan was demoted (and left to start Zeteo) after confronting Israeli spokesman, Mark Regev, on his show in October, 2023.... it was clear where that news source was headed.

S Yes, Hayes is probably one of the two best who are left. I like Ayman, but he’s been neutralized and his viewpoint diluted by the three young women they added to his show. Catherine Rampell is especially bad. She recently complained on the show about having to deal personally with “antisemitism” on both the right and the left. So often so-called antisemitism on the left is conflated with criticism of Israel’s genocide in Gaza and increasing takeover of the West Bank. That’s what the NYT did in an op-ed, that is, conflate those two things. Rampell didn’t provide any examples of antisemitism, which would have been better journalism. She of course has never expressed any sympathy for what Gazans are going through.

Today's Question:

If the federal government and the DoJ are "signalling" that there won't be any prosecution, at least at the federal level, what's the half-million for? Unless DHS is now offering a "kill" bounty.

Fran Carbonaro's avatar

This GoFundMe is exactly that: a kill bounty.

Thank you for giving me to appreciate reading your column. I am able to read about the negative actions of the ones who are only not doing anything positive for the good of the people, but are unfortunately helping the very rich, etc. When the Republicans passed the bill that took hundreds of dollars from Medicare & Medicaid, Secretly, Trump added to the bill where the very wealthy were able to eliminate some of the taxes. He was able to be involved in accumulating quite a lot of money. He has his sons now invested in accumulated money. He must be stopped as he is using hired men to take men & sends them to prisons in other countries. PLEASE WILL EVERYBODY SIGN TO HAVE HIM CHARGED & PUT BY THE 15 AMENDMENT.

Mostly just talk from both sides. What really matters is the flow. Of the billions of dollars into the criminal domestic/international terrorist’s pocketbooks. There seems to be a tremendous flow of money to every subaltern involved! I see a lot of folks mentioning this but no one seems to be interested in boycotting any of these companies/people. And none in congress seem to think that it of any major importance! Why? I know that we cannot do very much to influence this criminality…folks need to apply whatever pressure they can for as long as it takes. Not take ourselves and family members to disney land/world etc. look around, investigate and do not buy from the domestic/international terriorists or their minions! Everyone needs to be accountable . Suggest random work stoppages for random lengths of time. It’s time to do what is right not what is easy. Let’s put the financial pressure on the singer, ackerman, m. Kelly, and anyone else who supports terrorist behavior! Let’s let them know that they are not untouchable!

I keep hearing similar threats but still no action. So do it already. At this point, words mean nothing.

Thanks to the red jerks in DC for supporting Jerome Powell. Yes, they are still jerks but by golly, they know that Powell has done a fine job of keeping us afloat!

Come on, Peter - Ackman - he turns my stomach. What he did is a typical A-hole move!

Would be happy to say "bye-bye bondi" - don't let the door....but then, next one could be worse...but still her, Ice barbie, kegsmith, human & few others need to go.

Thanks for your always snarky news - I love snark! You made my day!
