Where I have to differ from you is where you say "I sincerely hope the US brokers a deal". The US cannot and will not be the ones to broker a deal, because that should be done by more neutral parties, not the country that is supplying the weapons and assistance to one side. All these years we've been pretending to be a middleman, which is a farce, and which is why the previous "peace plans" always failed.
