I like him. He's sooo chatty 🤣 ask him one question and he just goes right off. I want to hang out with him. I like his philosophy "I don't want to enter as a 26 year old congressman to oust anyone, I want to enter as an advocate". I think that's a wise stance to take. (As much as I want to see the Jeffries / corporate Democrat era over). He's well spoken and leads with empathy and kindness and I love that young people are not allowing older generations / moderates to dim that and tell them they're being unrealistic.
I love that young people are getting involved and we need more like him. I'm not in NY but if I were, I'd likely vote for him.
Also - I love to know that the politicians that essentially ignore gun violence and school shootings will be sweating now that these young people are old enough to run. Time is UP!

Kasky makes some great points here. I really appreciate what he says about the Likud charter (something I mention often in Substack debates; I don't see why this isn't brought up more often). He makes a really good point about the danger of 'affordability' becoming a new buzzword, while also positively noting that it has supplanted 'abundance' in current political discourse, at least for now.
IMO there are a few things he could do to refine his campaign style.
He does have a tendency to go off-topic a bit. He could generally be more succinct. In one example, when discussing why the DSA likely won't endorse him, he says there are 'two major reasons', but gives only one concrete reason (that the DSA is not focused on District 12), then he somewhat meanders into a more general discussion. He has some great ideas, I hope he can find a way to bundle them up a bit into a more cohesive message. There are a few times here when what he says in 3-4 minutes could be said in 1-2 minutes. I'd suggest for instance that he can make a clearer connection between the damages of AI and crypto (environmental impacts, oligarchical control). As we all know by now, this level of focus is one of Mamdani's primary strengths.
Personally, I think his f-bombs and occasionally snarky comments are funny, but I don't know how well that approach will play for a wider audience, especially when debating other candidates. He's clearly got wit, intelligence and ability to think on his feet. Those same comments that might come off as bitter or snide could be molded into smart but tough observations and rebuttals. He does fumble his words a bit here and there , especially when he wanders off topic (as in saying 'understated' when he means 'overstated' when talking about Barron Trump, for instance). Other candidates and reporters won't give him the deference Prem does here.
His points on Israel are strong. My suggestion there would be to focus on what is happening now , post 'ceasefire' and also what is happening right now in the West Bank, and Lebanon too. 'Moderate' Democrats deserve to continue to be hit hard over this issue that is very much still ongoing, for their past positions as well as their current silence.
I don't know if outright saying that you are hoping to split the vote and win a plurality is a great strategy. Any candidate for national office will need to convince some voters that they will appeal to a decent swath of that district's electorate. Not to make everything about Mamdani, but this is another one of his campaign's assets. Kasky does spell out several elements that can have an appeal beyond the most progressive voters. Let that be the campaign. He can differentiate himself from more centrists candidates by saying where they are wrong and what he will do differently.
Kasky clearly comes off as authentic, and also knowledgeable and even fun. I hope he can tighten up his style so he is ready to debate candidates and field tough questions from the media the race goes on. Good luck!

In Canada we have maple leafs next to the price tags of products that are Canadian. It makes it easier when shopping for groceries or liquor to choose Canadian. It’s not that difficult not to travel to US anymore, we have a big, beautiful country of our own.:)
