Last night's result is quite a bright light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. It gives me some hope for the future of the USA. Thank you NYC, thank you Mandani and all those, who worked with you.
Mandani's win is wonderful. Candidates in NYC, VA, and NJ who focus on affordability are riding a wave of revulsion against what Trump is doing. However, what about NYC's campaign public financing? Mandani's race wouldn't have been possible without it. How can his race be 'strategic' since most of the country does not have public financing?
The victory of Zohran and the ideals he espoces is just the first step. He and the team need now to get the results promised. To show that what was said is not only achievable without going broke, but beneficial to the city of New York and all who live there. I do not, but I am hopeful for you all, from the homeless to the rich. He has already proven money may help but it is not the answer.

Fantastic read, exactly why I subscribed to Zeteo to hear fresh voices, as opposed to the views of the recycled politicians and failed strategists. I read this morning another lazy analysis on WaPo, judging from mine and other most readers comments, it was badly received as a proof of how tone deaf the MSM has become. Very clear that MSM is this country does not listen to its readers, instead they write for the pleasure of one master each.
I felt that this was a case of New Yorkers deciding who was the best among the not-so-great and flawed candidates. One thing I'm confident of is that Mandami is now on a seriously hot seat and will have to thread the needle very carefully to avoid being called out as an anti-Semite in the positions or statements he makes.
Except that Mamdani never uttered a remotely antisemitic sentiment, besides, the use of antisemitism as a weapon to silence critics of the genocidal state is no longer working.
Affordability In America And Purchasing Power Of The Dollar
It’s clear that there is an affordability crisis in the US So called “Socialist Democrats” Zohran Mamdami(New York) and Katie Wilson(Seattle) winning mayoral races in major US cities on opposite coasts of the country bring a resounding signal to America at large that the cost of living is a major issue concerning the electorate
But while the efforts at all levels of government should be applauded, the bandaids that are being put forth just like Harris tried to do in 2024 will not work because the underlying problem in the US economy is the failure of the currency and its purchasing power WHICH HAS LOST 99% OF WHAT IT WAS IN 1971 WHEN NIXON TOOK THE COUNTRY OFF A GOLD STANDARD That’s called inflation!!
The Fed’s economists are simply in denial that a return to a gold standard will help solve the inflationary spiral that the country is in along with cutting fiscal spending We are headed for a 1929 financial implosion unless the Fed wakes up but WE shouldn’t hold our collective breath The only thing to do now is get out of dollars and into Constitutionally(Article 1 Section 8)sound money which is gold and silver
