The silence and inaction of most Western governments and the Western media is deafening. The reluctance to call the systematic slaughter of Palestinians, the starvation inflicted on them and the bombing of Gaza a genocide is beyond comprehension.

The obvious dehumanization of the Palestinian people continues unabated. And now with the election of Trump, Bibi will accelerate the genocide and annex large parts of the West Bank and Gaza. The so-called two state solution is long dead.

So much truth here….the point made by Professor Bartov that the occupation also dehumanizes Israelis is crucial. Hence the widespread denial and minimization by Israelis of the horrors their country is committing.

How do we break through the indifference by many Americans regarding our support of this genocide and mobilize greater pressure on the Israeli government? And keep our sanity in the meantime as we prepare for another trump presidency.

Trump and his minions are not waiting until January 25 to take "presidential actions." Pressure is being put on the ICC not to indict Netanyahu for the ongoing genocide and now ethnic cleansing of Gaza, which will soon occur in fast-time in the West Bank with annexation. By appointing Huckster Huckabee to be our ambassador to Israel, Trump is echoing the Christian Zionist thinking that Palestine does not exist so how can anyone be committing a genocide? And Israel's new ambassador is Mr. Leider, a follower of Rabbi Kahane who advocated an Israel free of Arabs, Muslims and Christians, and if they don't leave kill them. Leider's friend walked into a mosque and opened fire, killing dozens. He leads the voices calling for the increase of settlements and the expansion of Greater Israel on the rubble, bones and bodies of Palestinians. We are witnessing the Bibi-Trump "final solution" to the Palestinian problem: not two states, not one state, but no state and no existence except as refugees for those who survive this holocaust.

Don't know if anyone has noticed but all of US allies has abandoned them. Look at the vote at UN. Canada, UK, Japan, Australia all voted against US to recognise Palestine.

What an eye opening interview, touching especially on those people that still choose to walk, talk and pretend to see nothing. To learn why that is, and how difficult it is for those that wish to speak up, is extremely alarming. If this discussion is any indication of what is next to come, then it seems to me, that anyone speaking out will automatically be labelled antisemitic, and forced into submissive compliance. This is why, I believe, it is vital we support independent journalism, as that is where Mehdi’s voice is crystal clear loud, and it needs to get louder!

I’m a paid subscriber and I encourage you all, to support Zeteo, and stand firmly behind Mehdi. Thank you Mehdi for all you do.

An excellent and extremely important discussion with Mehdi & Professor Bartov, yet I definitely agree with you, Jon. Perhaps, the unmuted microphone for audience questions was placed incorrectly in the busiest area of this DC restaurant. Or at least, that microphone should have been muted during the interview. It truly was annoying to me as well, while trying to listen to Professor Bartov and Mehdi's interactions.

Hopefully, a lesson learned to improve upon your serious and professional interactions, Mehdi? Though, I truly appreciate your hard work involved in true journalism, Mehdi. 👏

It's a common, erroneous, and quite harmful belief that "the Jews were the victims of the worst genocide." This current genocide, like all genocides, is beyond horrific and disgusting. Unfortunately, my ancestors and other non-White victims of genocide are always all but forgotten and must be honored and remembered so Palestinians and other non-White victims of genocide are no longer all but forgotten.

Zionism sought to defend the Jewish people against anti-Semitism by adopting its central claim, namely, that they did not belong in the West but in Palestine. The unintended consequence was that it enabled the West to minimise its responsibility for Shoah, so that today, when Israel bombs Gaza, it is in fact the West that does so. And the West it is that admonishes bewildered Palestinians as they die, “Never again!” And, thereafter, in terrorising the Arab and the Muslim world, the West terrorises at the same time Israelis, placing them forever as anxious local gendarmerie, ever threatened, ever dependent on Western largesse, forever denied the possibility of real freedom. https://thewire.in/world/anti-semitism-palestinians-and-the-west-a-historical-background-of-the-current-bombing-of-gaza

Biden's complicity in this genocide is mind-boggling not just because he could have stopped it a year ago and maybe saved the election but also because he claims to be a "good" Christian and not one of the ones who believe "warrior" Jesus is coming back! That last bit I have no real evidence for but my point is he must be thinking he's going to stand before his god soon and try to explain this one? Well he certainly won't need any cold weather clothes….

Who do we talk to about opening a Genocide museum? I think it's time this country recognizes its role in committing Genocide and the museum should reflect that and all Genocides around the world. Our collective memories is really short and a reminder may be helpful to prevent future wars.
