It is so often ONLY Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush, who stand up for Americans, and for humanity.

The whole world not only needs this horrific crime to stop. It also needs ANSWERS as to WHY government officials chose to facilitate, aid & abet this psychopathic, year long exercise in sadistic, completely inhuman, entirely lawless savagery.

Very true. But Ilhan Omar speaks out too. As does Summer Lee.

Yes. That tiny handful of people are the only conscience the US government has, and the US government IS NOT LISTENING to that conscience.

💯 I just voted for Jill Stein and Butch Ware because my moral conscience would not allow me to sit out or vote for anyone else in this presidential election.

We are not a tiny handful. We are a Majority in the USA. Look at the data.

Yes. I agree. I was talking about the tiny handful within the Democratic Party.

Five Representatives asking the administration to honor US and international law and demand explanations for what has been carried out in the name of the American people with tax payers dollars. This is how our so-called democracy is supposed to work. Where are the rest of Congress?

Of course performative progressive AOC did not sign the letter.

NOT NOW! For the love of god can we please keep Donald Trump out of the Oval Office first so we can address these issues with an intelligent human being in the White House?? The Gen Zers are voting for 3rd party candidates or not voting at all. We need to focus on the election, then get back to work!

Something liberals seem to consistently ignore is that if a Ceasefire/Anti-Genocide message was a Democrat priority, then they would message in support of it and drive the media to message in support of it, they haven't. To expect them to change their stance after the election is truly foolish. They have been more than happy to call us all anti-Semitic and send more than a few protesters to jail and/or ruin their lives and careers. That stance isn't deserving of support my friend. Remember, the party has to earn our vote, not demand it. If they'd been earning our votes for the last 20 years, we wouldn't be in this mess at all, and Trump would've never had a platform at all. Americans would have nothing to be aggrieved about to put Trump in such popular standing. So to petulantly tell people to vote for Kamala while ignoring all of that and pretending history doesn't exist ignores the issue, Democrats haven't earned our votes and have actively worked to make sure we don't like them at all now by trotting out war criminals like Dick Cheney. Maybe the neocons of yesteryear will win it for them. If not, big oops on their part, not ours.

If Donald Trump is re elected none of that will matter.

I don’t believe this is an Israeli war at all . Israel is NOTHING without the US . So who do you think is expanding its muscles into the Middle East .

And by the way it’s not only Generation Z who’s is voting for the third party.

People like Rashida Tlaib and Cori Bush are the ones who demonstrate that there is (a tiny) part of the Democratic Party that is worth believing in. Yet 'moderates' chastise the decent few, to shut up & hide! As if it is better to have NOTHING BUT MONSTERS visible.

Yes agree. We might not even get a chance to vote again w Trump on the throne. Is it really worth it? Seems more like a punishment against all humanity.

Something HAS to be done about the humanitarian crisis. I am hoping that if Harris wins and no longer has to woo particular groups for votes, she will urge Biden to stop weapons sales until Israel does something.

If trump wins, the Palestinians are toast--the color of which he hates when it is found in people.

You are right if trump wins the Palestinians are toast along with many other vulnerable groups. But to think Harris will not carry out the same genocidal campaign as Biden is naive. Supporting Israel has always been the policy of this country regardless of who is in office because it’s in the economic and political interest of US empire to do so.

Didn’t say I expected her to; said I hoped she would. There doesn’t seem to be much hope otherwise. Certainly not with trump. We didn't think there'd ever be a Civil Rights law or an end to Jim Crow, either. But we worked for it, and imperfect as it is, it happened. Your choice is to bemoan or to become an activist, and just shrug off the "antisemitism" rants you will get. We got lots of "n-word lover" all the time; no lasting damage from that.

Has the president asked Congress for a declaration of war since World War II? Because if not, the constitution has been ignored by Congress and the president for at least 70 years and no one has bothered to do anything about it.

I love this letter. Speaks to the situation and specifics, with references etc. Making a historical record and holding president Biden to account for his/administration’s actions. Yes, the people elected the politicians to represent them and overwhelmingly want a ceasefire. I am relieved Bernie Sanders will put it to a vote, and progressives are actually representing their voters and doing their sworn duty. This is the integrity congress is to represent and foster. It might be a small number, but there only needs to be one person to start the wheels of change, and to consistently speak up. Cannot give up. This is good and adds to positive action.

This is good that they’re speaking out but let’s be realistic here they will not have the votes in Congress to stop this genocide. The US support of Israel is a question of maintaining US Empire’s economic and political hegemony over the region. America supports Israel because it is their proxy state in the very oil rich Middle East and history has shown us that nothing stops US empire.
