Sy, I just read a letter I got from Senator Tom Carper in response to the call I placed to his office asking him to urge Biden to demand a cease fire so aid could get into Gaza. I got a three page letter all about condemning Hamas and nothing about a ceasefire or the aid . I'm a historian. Hamas didn't start the fire. That started even before WWII. Had the US dealt fairly with Arafat and the PLO, they wouldn't have Hamas to deal with. Plus, Netanyahu has been courting and funding Hamas for years on the premise that so long as Hamas maintains political power in Gaza, there cannot be a two state solution. In other words, Israel created the monster they now say they want to destroy.
Anyway, No surprise about Carper who is a blue dog., Republican in Dems clothing. They are why Obama had such a hard time getting anything done the first two years he was in office because the blue dogs opposed him. The Rethugs won the midterms and as they say, the rest is history.
