It is a shameful day that a war criminal was welcomed into the Capitol building by his Congressional enablers. The bombs, missiles and war planes killing Palestinians day after day for months and months must end. Thank you Rep. Rashida Tlaib for your courage and tenacity to stand up in quiet but unequivocal protest during Netanyahu's brazen speech.

I really respect her, and value all or any politicians who do not go along with the genocide.

Me too. She is so brave always standing up (or sitting down!) to the mindless politicians who support the thug Netanyahu

I love it that you gave us a sense of what it was like both inside and outside the building. I value hearing from the people outside protesting. A much broader and more helpful perspective than I got from the NYTimes.

Thanks for saving the optimistic parts for the end. I have so much faith in our younger generation. Can't wait for fall semester. I don't think the kids are gonna be sitting this out again.

Thank you for your report especially the details on what the reps did or did not do. At least their constituents know their stand from their actions. Am glad that Rep.Rashida Tlaib took the stand of silent resistance by attending with the kefiyyeh and sign. How low have Congress descended to fete a war criminal who has approved of genocide, starvation, torture, rapes of prisoners - men, women and children, the destruction of hospitals, schools and refugee camps, brutalization of the elderly and disabled.. even Hannibal Lector would have been better than Netanyahu and he was fictional. What the IOF is doing with his blessing and encouragement is stuff even more horrific and gory than any fiction or movie can make up.

I briefly watched the news where the killer Netanyahu speaks and the majority of Congress give him a standing ovation. How disgusting is that? Applause for a murderer ! Something is very wrong with American politicians who applauded . Well done to the politicians who refrained and to Rashida Tlaib. Very brave. Well done to Kamala Harris for boycotting the ridiculous event.

I , in UK cannot understand how this murderer was even invited to address the Congress. He should have been arrested.

True. Keir Starmer and the Labour Party and the Tory party are all complicit in the genocide. Where is humanity ?

Thank you for telling it the way it is. Everyone is talking about putting country over personal ambition which is good. But we don’t hear much about putting human lives and decency ahead of money and party which apparently 50% of the Democratic Party seems loathe to do. Perhaps the silver lining is that the number of those willing to do this does seems to be growing.

Utterly unhinged watching Congress mindlessly cheering a war criminal. It was like watching the Reichstag cheering the Fuhrer or the Politburo adulating over Stalin.

Sad to live in a world where the people are not represented by their leaders. We need true democracy not a shameless one!
