Journalism. Always refreshing to read Zeteo news. They call it like it is. 😏

Right wing media and Johnson's MAGAT Congress all belong in a locked psych unit. I've run a number of such units, so I know psychotics when I see them. They can be very dangerous and often require sedation for their safety and the safety of others.

They all sound like bratty children playing in a sandbox, trying to play power games or maybe the mean kids table in Junior High.

True, but it's only a matter of time before the mean kids at the New York Times and Washington Post find some ridiculous right-wing line of attack to adopt as their own. Now that they can't spend the next four months running "Biden is old" stories, they gotta fill that space with something, and it sure won't be honest, factual reporting.

I've stopped my subscription to the NYT but still hang on to WaPo to keep tabs on what the "legacy media" are up to. It's really sad how they have changed direction. There is still some good journalism happening there, mostly in the long-form, non-political stories but the honourable tradition of journalism being the first draft of history and a basic cornerstone of democracy has left the building.

Their ability to completely contradict themselves within minutes: "Joe Biden must be forced to stay in!" "Joe Biden must be forced to resign!" may seem comical, but it's a standard feature of fascism. The fascist recognizes no power other than his own, consistency is a constraint that only applies to lesser beings. By deliberately being illogical and self-contradictory, the fascist shows reality who's boss. "Yeah, what I'm saying now completely contradicts what I said five minutes ago, what are ya gonna do about it, huh?"

Beshear, Cooper or Pritzker will likely get the VP slot... but would like to see an Adam Kinzinger, Liz Cheney or a impeachment committee member at least get an interview?

Different perspectives are interesting. I'm strongly anti-Trump, but never happy about Biden running again. Post-debate I was one of those who wanted him to bow out -- and to me, MSNBC seemed to give this POV very short-shrift. Many of the hosts were sickeningly "we must keep Biden, damn those pesky numbers indicating our chances of beating Trump are evaporating". I found more balance -- which for me meant more skepticism -- on CNN.

Isn’t that funny? I was one who wanted him to stay (although am happy with how things turned out, just feared Dem chaos) and I felt MSNBC was ready to give him the boot! Ya know what I think it may be? There is a deep divide between Daytime Coverage after Joe & Evening Coverage starting with Nicolle. Daytime MSNBC skews practically centre right. Evening MSNBC gets lefter as it gets later.

I truly hate the fact that MSNBC — despite being littered with conservatives & republicans — is spoken about as if it is AT ALL left.

It doesn't even convincingly play at being centrist "liberal" moderate.

It dropped ALL pretense of being a legitimate "news" outlet when it chose to lie to Americans, on behalf of a foreign country... when it chose to lie to Americans, in service to a racist, fascist genocide.

There's no coming back from MSNBC's Blue-MAGA BS, let alone their genocidal propaganda.

It's the channel that's loyal to the Democratic Party, just like Fox is the channel that's loyal to the Republican Party. I think that's a more useful way to look at it than "right" and "left." Because it's never about any general set of principles or any actual political philosophy, it's about the Party's needs in the moment.

When I said,

"I've given you a full day, and you've failed to raise a single issue that you couldn't have found the answer to, in MY FIRST COMMENT, if you had bothered to read it. I think I've donated enough of my time to you."

I meant it. You're not explaining anything I don't understand, and I've explicitly told you that I have no patience left for you.

Twice now.

Sorry, I have no idea what you're mad about. But you could have saved some time by just ignoring my comment and not responding. I suggest you try that with this comment right here.

SteveB, YOU ARE A TROLL. You never have a post of your own opinion, like you may actually have one. No matter what Substack channel one may go, there is always a SteveB. Doesn’t stand for anything, only comments on others who actually have an opinion or something to say. You’re among many online trolls who bring the community down. But I have no doubt that your purpose is to do just that. I’m guessing you’re paid by the word or letter. Unfortunately, there you are. I said earlier that when I get responses from you in email, I just delete them. I suggest others do the same. You stand for nothing and have nothing to say or contribute. A sleazy mole.

Look, I don't know what I ever said that makes you fly into a rage every time I post something, but it's getting annoying and I wish you'd stop. You keep threatening to ignore me and then you never follow through with the ignoring.

Here, look at this: "when I get responses from you in email, I just delete them. I suggest others do the same."

Yes, why don't you follow your own advice? You can start right now.
