As a lifetime Labour supporter I knew what was coming and for the first time in my life didn't vote Labour. I hated being right. Now the Tories who are in the toilet, as a political entity are mostly joining Reform because it's pretty damn close to their rightwing "values" and will be hoping to take over. It shouldn't be too hard as Farage enjoys spending all his time in trumps back pocket along with dizzy Lizzy. (It's the money stupid), should be painted on their foreheads! This time I am going to vote Green. I considered Your Party but they've already had so much in-fighting before they've even been elected so I don't want to take a chance of another politician who thinks he's the party. They all seem to forget that the voter is the party. I don't believe in "sitting this one out" as that leads to apathy. We can't afford that in these times. The dangers of AI and multi billionaires calling the shots means we HAVE to remain engaged. The Republicans are going to go the way of the Tories I'll bet. Conservative nowadays just means "we hate everybody that isn't white!" England has for years been multicultural and it's been better for it. They like to cite crime figures when an brown or black person does something wrong without contrasting it to the over whelming numbers of white people that do things wrong. Racism is the the Reform party. A neighbour of mine says "I don't hate them, just the illegals!" Yet a white Swedish girl would never get attacked for over-staying in the country illegally would she? This isn't "trump-land" yet and we never should go down that road.
A real horror show. I left Britain almost 60 years ago, and remember growing up assuming that of course health care was free, and all the other decent actions the Labour party took after WWII. I still see the government as being employed by the people to provide what needs providing. The present Labour government is picking on the poorest and most needy to make their lives even worse. Trying to force people with disabilities that really do prevent them from working, to get a job. Ugh. Then there were the people who got booted out of the party, Corbyn of course, but Ken Loach whose movies have had more to say about working class life than any politicians.
