Bravo! I'm 87 and voted for Mamdani as the only viable candidate for mayor.

I am a man from New Zealand so cannot vote, but his humanity and moral compass shines like the sun warming and life giving when compared to those who champion the status quo for their own corrupt benefit.

I am only 75 and happily voted for Mamdani the first day of early voting. He is a mensch which goes a long way in a positive profile for an elected official. If someone does not care about all the constituents their decisions will reflect that.

An "only 75" year old just made me feel like a child again! (Only 68.)

Thanks, Andrea!

Another feisty lefty oldie here. Writing from London. We too are cheering for young Zohran. BUT, do not let us down like a certain other young man who promised us a lot of hope and change - especially on Palestine. I have yet to forgive him.

I am 83 also and I wish I could vote for Mamdani too. I live in Virginia. Your description of the man is exactly how he has come across during the campaign, as far as I am concerned. He is young, exciting, and seems to be a good human, and we need that desperately in all our elections.

Did you know Jacquline Grennan when she was President of Hunter College? I go way back with her when she was a young member of the Sisters of Loretto. She would be so proud of your work

Dealing With The DNC Rot From Within

The popularity of the Democratic party is at an all time low with voters

New York mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani is teaching the Democratic party if they are willing to listen The electorate as measured by the number of protesters and those who support these protests is significant and the electorate is angry where the current Nazi regime is taking the country But it seems that the DNC is unwilling to rock to the boat and piss off big money donors so the status quo remains

But there is another element in the DNC rot There are long term influencers who are “hanging around” who still insist that policy should be the same For example the Jewish old guard like Simon Rosenberg(Hopium Chronicles on Substack)representing the AJPM(American Jewish Propaganda Machine) continue to support the Gaza genocide Mamdami has shown he can appeal to the NY Jewish population and still be opposed to the genocide and Israeli war criminals

The DNC needs a bold new aggressive agenda to win over the electorate Immediate SCOTUS reform, renewal of voting rights eroded by SCOTUS, support for women’s reproductive rights, ending Citizens United and big money in politics, taxation of fat cat billionaires and corporations, and demand a return to a gold standard All done with an angry attitude of taking no prisoners and no reaching across the aisle Time for an all out political cleansing of the Nazi regime

van Hollen then Hochul It will take time but the DNC has to get over their problem of socialism phobia How the Nazis portray socialism is their cudgel to spout and propagandize authoritarianism The DNC needs to proudly endorse the label of socialism because if socialism is human kindness and decency, then give me a lot of it Socialism is actually a policy against greed and power WE the People should be all for socialism

Much well said and specific. Since we only have two funded parties (although an independent might get all the funds mistrusting previous democrats won’t give them any longer) they should be completely taken over, voted out or whatever.

They are not the party of every soul here in America and on guns, drugs, a woman’s right to choose and Gaza, they do not lead or defend.

If socialism is making sure a high tide raises all (even the little) boats, I’m a democratic socialist as well.
