Really great framing of the problem. Whether soldiers who have become desensitized to war crimes, or an older, whiter population unmoored from reality by Russian info warfare (subsidized by cable networks and delivered by FOX), our moral compass loses direction without constant calibration. Mehdi, you are not only a great communicator, but also a great calibrator. Thank you for helping us keep us true to ourselves!!

Dear Mehdi, I love and respect the way you handle the news and current affairs. The Gaza tragedy is probably a defining moment because it has exposed the hypocrisy of the Western media when it comes to dealing with human rights and rule-based international law. I am wondering whether you can add the perspectives of Native American voices in the US Gaza narrative. The First Nations of the so called New World have a lot to share with the Palestinian people. Keep up the good work.

There is no more words to utter regarding such a savagery, and the colluding silence by governments supporting such a genocide, which also are helping funding such a 2024 world’s tragedy! Yet hiding behind the tragedy of the earlier holocaust of the 30ties, yet turning away their eyes from another holocaust happening now in 2024 under their own eyes to the Palestinians!

Listening to the Israeli soldiers turned activists, I feel even more deeply how the select few people at the top (in terms of power) are really brainwashing an entire population (telling THEM to ‘go to the promised land’ and commit ethnic violence, but not going themselves) , thus using them as pawns for their own political and monetary gains (reference to Jared Kushner’s recent video about making waterfront luxury apartments once Gaza is ‘cleared’) via divide-and-rule strategies as old as time itself..

I really do not believe that U.S president has any leverage to control Israel. The only thing the U.S has is money and weapons that are sent to Israel otherwise the Israeli government could careless what the U.S president has to say or anyone

Money and weapons are pretty good levers to pull!

But don't forget that once this war is over, Netanyahu will most likely be ousted and possibly go to jail. So, he is putting his personal needs over the needs of Israel. This makes him almost impossible to negotiate with because logic will not prevail. Making Israel safer will not persuade.

Netaynahu wants to go down in history as a pm who gave them the promised land. If they take Gaza west bank is next don't be fooled west bank is next. They Israelis will create another so called terrorist attack so they can slaughter and take over the land.

It's good to see that these young Israeli ex-soldiers do recognize the flaws in their government and the brainwashing that has been done to the young people who live there. That means there is hope for things to change for the better, one day hopefully soon. It only remains to get rid of these toxic leaders that are like raving maniacal killers. Nothing will change them! BTW, on another topic - the Eurovision contest. Why on earth is Israel included in that? They have to make up their minds, are they Europeans or Middle Easterners? They can't have their cake and eat it too. But they do have this ingrained sense of entitlement that will never be shaken. Just as Russia was, Israel should also be stricken from entering the Olympics. It's a shame for the athletes but fair is fair.

Listening to this brought back memories and the shame of Abu Graib.

Lineker is my generation. It's like we've grown up together, albeit being worlds apart. He was a very decent bloke in my youth, and remains so today.

One of the best segments I’ve seen on Gaza. Keep up the great work!

Amazing show Mehdi. Found each segment really interesting, even the lighter segment at the end even though I’m not a football fan.

Hearing the IDF testimonies was really interesting. They didn’t seem to show as much remorse as I was expecting. They seemed to feel really entitled to fight for “their” land. I was expecting by now after the Tantura documentaries and information available for them to have realised the horrors their grandfathers/fathers committed to enable them to live in the houses they currently live in. I didn’t think any human could feel at ease living on top of mass graves. It makes me sad it wasn’t mentioned and has been brushed under the rug as ancient history when it wasn’t very long ago and those people are still alive yearning for their homes.

I was expecting them to say something along the lines of “Israel should not have formed in the first place. It was a grave crime against the Palestinians”. The soldiers seemed to have more of an attitude that they now have the right to that land and just want to be more humane and forget about all that’s happened in the past. I can still appreciate that even saying what they have is a huge achievement in such a fascist country and they are risking their lives to speak out, so thank you for what you are doing. It’s a step in the right direction.

I really wish there is justice in my lifetime for the Palestinians

The fact that the IDF is systematically destroying the infrastructure signals the intent to leave no Palestinian man, woman nor child standing. I would not be surprised if Netanyahu and his squatters sought weapons from Hungary, Russia or China in the future. So much for Israeli Democracy.

So finally Biden has a sudden change of heart and a moral awakening after at least 35,000 civilians killed with 15,000+ children slaughtered, schools, churches, mosques, hospitals obliterate by US weapons? Wow just wow ! Who is the idiot here?

Both conversations were incredibly interesting but the things the doctor from Rafah told Mehdi was sickening and i truly hope he stays safe and is able to help as many people as possible. But getting Gary Lineker on the broadcast is so awesome! Even though I`m german (i know i know) but at the same age as Mehdi i always admired Gary as a child. He and Jurgen Klinsmann were my childhood heroes and Gary is a wonderful human being. Thank you Mehdi for getting him on the broadcast and having this great conversation and a small football talk at the end. Loved it
