Israel through AIPAC and J Street give about $100 million a year to US lawmakers of both parties in the House and the Senate. Some of the biggest annual recipients of this largesse are those who have most quickly come to condemn the ICC's warrant. Sen Lindsay Graham receives about $1 million, Sen John Fetterman about $0.25 million, Sen Schumer about $1 million.... Literally hundreds of Senators and House Representatives are on the Israel payroll.

One gruesome mendacious way of looking at it is that, for example in 2024, Israel has received over $20 billion in military aid from US taxpayers - most of who by now would rather this aid not be sent. So for an annual downpayment of a mere $100 million, Israel makes a massive return. Since the $100 million is chump change by comparison, and can easily be funded from the previous year's lavish military aid "donation" 9 money being fungible), in effect this is a recycling of military aid money to US lawmakers.

Bootom line : In the US Congress, $100 million buys you a genocide.

John Fetterman has been one of the biggest mistakes I have ever made as a Pennsylvanian. I hope when his term is up there is a decent Democrat to primary. He also makes me sick. 🤢

I am so appreciative of the courage displayed by the ICC in issuing these warrants. And I agree with Lindsay Graham when he fears that we could be next. After all, from My Lai to Abu Ghraib, we have a long history of committing war crimes and genocide.

We the People of the United States, fundamentally reject the statement from US "leadership" that reject the Court’s decision to issue arrest warrants for senior Israeli officials. We remain deeply concerned by the Presisent, VP, State Department, and members of Congress that interfere and delayed the ICC Prosecutor’s seeking of arrest warrants and the troubling process errors that led to this delayed decision. The American public of the United States has been clear that the ICC has jurisdiction over this matter. In coordination with global solidarity, we are discussing next steps to bring any and all complicit actors within the US and Israel to Justice. We will never forget the unAmerican betrayal of of elected officials that continue to betray the American people, the Palestinian people, and violate international law.

One possible reason for the clearly hypocritical U.S. response could be that much of the multibillions "given" to Israel comes back to the U.S. defense industry in the form of weapons of war built here.

Prem, could you or someone from the Zeteo team please interview Majed Bamya, the deputy permanent observer of the State of Palestine to the UN? His recent speech at the UN Security Council was not just powerful—it was a searing indictment of an ongoing genocide that the world is either blind to or complicit in. Sharing his unedited speech, along with those of other representatives, would expose the blatant hypocrisies and moral failures that continue to perpetuate this atrocity.

Majed Bamya didn't merely speak; he delivered a masterclass in righteous indignation, tearing apart the facade of international diplomacy that shields perpetrators while ignoring the screams of the oppressed. He questioned the fundamental fairness of international law:

> "Is there a UN Charter for Israel that is different from the charter you all have? Tell us, is there international law for them and international law for us?"

He exposed the grotesque double standards that allow one side to thrive while the other suffers:

> "Do they have the right to kill, and the only right we have is to die?"

Bamya didn't stop there. He highlighted the horrifying disparity between the plight of Israeli hostages and the thousands of Palestinians held under the euphemistic term "administrative detention":

> "There are 100 Israeli hostages and 2 million Palestinians in Gaza. They deserve better; they deserve respect for their lives, for their suffering."

Let's dissect this grim arithmetic: while the release of hostages is a commendable goal, it pales in comparison to the systemic torture and inhumane treatment endured by Palestinians in administrative detention. According to B'Tselem's report, "Welcome to Hell: Israeli Prisons as a Network of Torture Camps" (available at https://www.btselem.org/publications/202408_welcome_to_hell), Palestinians held without charges are subjected to relentless physical and psychological abuse. Testimonies reveal the transformation of Israeli prison facilities into de-facto torture camps, where detainees face:

Physical and psychological abuse

Absence and denial of medical treatment

Food deprivation and starvation

Consider the chilling accounts from the report:

> “We were taken to Megiddo. When we got off the bus, a soldier said to us: 'Welcome to hell.'”

—Fouad Hassan, 45, Qusrah in Nablus District

> “I was put in a pit in the ground. When I was in it, with all the other detainees, the soldiers ordered me to take off my hijab. One of them told me: 'I killed your husband and I want to bury you alive. Let the dogs eat you.'”

—Hadil a-Dahduh Zaza, 24, Gaza Strip

> “They forced us to spread our legs and then sit half crouching. Then they started hitting us on our private parts with the detector. They rained blows down on us.”

—Sami Khalili, 41, Nablus, West Bank

These accounts are not mere exaggerations; they are a testament to the brutal reality faced by Palestinians under Israeli custody. The international community's silence on these atrocities is nothing short of complicity.

Meanwhile, U.S. Ambassador Robert A. Wood raised his blood-soaked veto hand to block a UN Security Council resolution demanding “an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire” along with “the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.” This resolution saw 14 out of 15 members voting in favor, yet it was snuffed out by the U.S., revealing the stark hypocrisy at play. Ambassador Danny Danon arrogantly thanked the U.S. for "standing on the side of morality and justice," a moronic assertion when moral standards are blatantly disregarded through vetoes that sustain genocide.

Adding insult to injury, U.S. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield launched a vicious attack on Francesca Albanese, the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in the Palestinian Territory, accusing her of antisemitism:

> "As UN Special Rapporteur Albanese visits New York, I want to reiterate the U.S. belief she is unfit for her role. The United Nations should not tolerate antisemitism from a UN-affiliated official hired to promote human rights."

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention did not hold back in their rebuttal:

> "Your attack on UN Special Rapporteur Albanese is so clearly intended to hide your criminal complicity in an ongoing genocide that you truly should be embarrassed. Is there any trick from the genocidaire’s playbook that you will refuse to carry out? By attacking a person who is courageously speaking truth, you obviously hope to draw attention away from the criminal conspiracy that is the Biden White House, State Department, Department of Defense, and your office, all of which have materially aided Israel in committing genocide. Francesca Albanese is an upstander. She will be remembered as a hero. You will be remembered as a perpetrator and an apologist."

This is classic U.S. political theater—weaponizing antisemitism to silence legitimate criticism of Israeli actions, a tactic so transparent it's laughable if it weren't so horrifying. This strategy not only tarnishes genuine efforts to combat antisemitism but also masks the true nature of the crimes being committed against Palestinians.

Majed Bamya's speech was not just a momentary outburst; it was a monumental declaration that will be remembered for generations:

> "One day someone will dig up these meetings, the records of them, will see us pleading for the lives of our people over and over and over again, and they will try to understand why our calls were not heeded... They will wonder how a genocide displayed on TVs, known to the whole world, was able to continue for this long."

Bamya emphasized the consistent stance of the Palestinian delegation:

> "We repeat, we are against harming any civilians... But our civilians—what about our civilians? They are worthy of protection; their lives should be saved. People cannot sit and demand Palestinian pacifism under all circumstances and enable Israeli militarism."

This isn't about humanitarian crises or conflicts; it's about an orchestrated genocide perpetuated by the West, led by the United States and Israel. The U.S., with its seemingly unlimited wealth and power, has become a willing partner in this atrocity, providing the weapons and financial support that sustain the genocide.

The recent UN Security Council resolution, which demanded an “immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire” and the “immediate and unconditional release of all hostages,” was a beacon of hope snuffed out by Ambassador Wood's dripping-with-blood veto. The resolution's failure underscores the hypocrisy of a nation that demands the release of hostages while ignoring the plight of millions subjected to systematic torture and abuse.

Consider the stark difference between Israeli hostages and Palestinians held under administrative detention. While hostages may be held for political leverage, Palestinians in administrative detention face ongoing torture, including sexual abuse and gang rape, with many dying from their treatment. This is no mere detention—it's a sinister form of hostage-taking where the detainees' suffering serves as a tool of oppression.

As The Guardian reported:

> "The resolution demanded 'an immediate, unconditional and permanent ceasefire' in the war between Israel and the Palestinian group, along with 'the immediate and unconditional release of all hostages.' UN security council voted 14-1 in favor of resolution but it was not adopted because of the US veto."

Human Rights Watch condemned the U.S. for using its veto to ensure "impunity for Israel as its forces continue to commit crimes against Palestinians in Gaza."

Majed Bamya's speech is a clarion call for the world to recognize and act against this ongoing genocide. He pleaded:

> "What this resolution was calling for is an unconditional end to massacres, and that is always worth supporting."

Prem, the Western press may choose to bury these truths, but platforms like yours have a moral imperative to amplify them. By interviewing Majed Bamya and sharing his powerful speech in full, you can help unmask the hypocrisy and demand accountability from those who perpetuate this genocide. It's not just about reporting events; it's about standing on the side of justice and humanity against overwhelming oppression and deceit.

Because, in the end, silence isn't just complicity—it's an active betrayal of our shared human values.

I watched that speach as well and it was as you say; moving and powerful. Whilst it wouldn't play to Medhi's harder hitting interview style, I expect it would be interesting to see Majed's vewpoint expressed outside of the somewhat scripted speeches of the UNSC meetings.

If he can deliver such a moving speech within the constraints of UNSC format, let him have at it with Medhi Unfiltered!

The U.N., ICC and ICJ have to hold their ground and not give way to persecution and threats. They are in the right and represent most of the world. They must not let the U.S. govt, Israel or Britain cower them into submission. God I detest these people. In Britain you can get locked up just for saying you are against genocide. What kind of lunacy is that? I grew up there for a time, I'm glad I left many years ago now. Orwell must be turning in his grave, saying "I told you so!"

I have been writing Congress and POTUS regularly telling them to stop funding Israel’s genocide— since November 2023. I’ve also been emailing POTUS about same. I just sent Biden an unfiltered email expressing my disgust about his continued deference to the madman in Israel. I wish everyone as angry as I am would flood his email with the same sentiments. Biden makes me sick! The senators who didn’t sign Sander’s resolution also make me sick. The lot of them. I give to organizations I trust such as JVP and those like the Quakers who send food to Gaza. I just feel so helpless. I also worry that the food doesn’t get in. I will keep doing this because I don’t know what else to do.
