You sound like the definition of Western Feminism, which is why when your White fragility was exposed, you bristled and got defensive rather than trying to understand and empathize fully. If you really are here to learn, I suggest you read the article again and actually feel every word that poured out of the writer's soul, then close your mouth until you feel you can comment without saying you are White and how this pains you, and explain that you can't speak against Israel because you're not an authority yet prattle along with a full critique as to why and how the writer and protesters should cater to White people's sensibilities.
I am sorry you misunderstood my intent, but I see that you again are applying a label that can be hurtful and misunderstood. My point is, that when that type of language is used, no matter how justified, it can be hurtful and just as I try to put myself in the shoes of others (walk a mile) I would hope others would do the same. By the way, I never said that I cannot speak against Israel, I do so on a regular basis. I am in my sixties and I have never understood the displacement. Just as I have never understood the displacement of indigenous Americans. I said, that I do not understand all of the factors around Hamas as there is so much misinformation. I guess we will agree to disagree. And I will not close my mouth. I learn from trying to understand, asking questions, voicing opinions. I thought that is what this forum is supposed to be about. I guess I was wrong about that as well. Guess I need to mark this as another, not safe place. Thank you for showing me that.
Hi Kathy - there are a couple of scholars that have extensively studied Hamas whose works/lectures you may be interested to read/listen. One is Dr. Tareq Baconi who wrote an excellent book called "Hamas Contained: The Rise and Pacification of Palestinian Resistance" which I'd highly recommend. He appeared on the Ezra Klein show a few months ago which I thought was a really good primer on the subject: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EzUxxY2sYys. Another is Dr. Paola Caridi who recently appeared on the Chris Hedges show: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=79-43bBUGsU. Hope you find them insightful.

Personal attacks are not helpful here, imo.
