Of the top three potential candidates, I would vote only for AOC, although I am not enthusiastic about her. I would vote for neither Harris nor Booker because of their support for genocide in Gaza. Booker voted against all three provisions of Sanders’ recent bill to block funding of weapons for Israel. Harris ridiculed and condescended to anti-genocide protesters. No one who has voted to support funding for genocide should be running for president. Booker also voted against buying cheaper drugs from Canada, while accepting more money from the pharmaceuticals than almost any other member of Congress. These votes are more important than his opportunistic monologue which was clearly intended to launch his bid for the presidency.

On another note: I would have signed up for an annual membership, but was dissuaded by a rant by Francesca. In it, she used the sexist and racist term, “Karen,” to refer to unidentified white women. She also said that white women were the beneficiaries of affirmative action, as if that is a legitimate criticism. Even so, she cited no source regarding the percentage of white women who had so benefitted relative to other protected groups. She may be referring instead to a reduction of discrimination, which should benefit us all. She is probably too young to remember when women were excluded from many elite colleges. (I worked for a law firm that successfully sued the University of Virginia for denying entrance to women). Maybe Francesca should apply for a position with the right-wing publication, The Washington Examiner, which in a recent article referred to all white women with college degrees as “Karens.” Her memes seem to come right out of the DNC’s playbook, which attempts to divide and categorize us by race, gender, etc. I respectfully refer Francesca to Frantz Fanon, who said (and I paraphrase), “Our race and skin color do not define us. Instead we are defined by ‘the master (we choose to) serve.’” I choose to align with other persons of conscience, regardless of their racial, ethnic or gender identities. I will not overlook support for genocide because of someone’s skin color, e.g., Harris and Booker, nor will I vote for or against someone based on their relative youth. I hope Zeteo is looking outside the a Democratic Party to save us from fascism. If not, we’re in for a long ride.
