Your comments reflect many of my own sentiments. Donald Trump was not just beamed down from Star Trek's Enterprise into the oval office. American voters put him there both times, but especially the the second, which seems irrational to me as I didn't vote for him either time. It makes me think that it's something I've yet to identify, something pathological, some affliction, to which we were all exposed, but only some of us were infected. Time and history may be required for it to reveal itself clearly, but it likely will eventually. I just hope that occurs before "something wicked this way comes" again. Thank you for your insight.

You are most likely aware of this, but we were given a clue by Trump of his predisposition toward an insatiable compulsion for self-aggrandizement & naming things after himself. Either shortly before or immediately after his election to his first term, he visited and toured Mount Vernon. He didn't say much during the tour but at the end, his host ask him what he thought of it. He replied that "Washington made one big mistake - he didn't put his name on anything - so how was anybody supposed to know that it was his?!! As the old saying goes, hindsight is 20/20!
