Thanks for putting that together. Despite looking at up to 5 news sites a day this topic doesn't seem to rise to the top above what the latest MAGA outrage is over VP Harris. And some of the points, like # 3 , feel eerily like something Trump would put together.

Thanks for this article Zeteo. As a second generation Bangladeshi immigrant in the UK, this has been an absolutely horrific time. The Internet blackout was horrifying in terms of trying to check on friends and family, and limited reporting coming out of Desh

WOW thanks for the research and logical+unbiased analysis. How is it that SO MANY countries are exhibiting the rise of these kind of autocratic and lethal "leaders". Think Trump, Modi, Shahbaz Sharif, this oldie. So many more. Depressing doesn't begin to describe.

There would seem to be no shortage of injustice worldwide. Authoritarianism on the rise and the societal fabric coming apart at the fringes. This with a vacuum of true leadership, nowhere to be found. It’s frightening to witness and one must wonder if any country will be spared. Corruption, power and militarism spreading and taking all in its wake.

A surprise turnaround in Bangladesh. Hasina driven out to hide in Modi’s India. 2006 Nobel Prize winner Yunus in as interim leader. A positive miracle result!

Thanks for covering this issue. It is heartbreaking to see this innocent young life brutally murdered.

It would do well for Bangladesh to consider term limits for their chief executive to prevent this sort of abuse of power. Also, learn from our bad example and don't have any barriers between the office and the people's vote.

Thank you for the helpful overview of this tragic set of events. I hope the Bangladeshi's will be able to resolve these problems swiftly and peacefully.

It’s particularly sad, because a woman is being the abuser and victimizer, when it’s historically been men. 😢
