We have been groomed to accept mass atrocities a long time ago, which is a problem for the people of Gaza. I remember protesting my university being invested in South Africa. Look at the South Sudan. Look at all of the armed conflicts in the world today.

This is why we find people being desensitized to the violence and mass atrocities, because it feels like business as usual. Gaza and Ukraine stand out in that they have been able to get attention in the US.

Republicans tune out the violence going on in their own country that they and others are perpetrating, so why would they care about anyone else, when they don't even care about their own.

Hopefully by viewing this film, people will get a sense of the horror. I think most will avoid it for that reason.

I saw the film in UK. It is a very powerful story of how Palestine villages get treated by Israeli authorities, in this case claiming the land encompassing several villages is needed for military training for tanks leading to their destruction. There is then little evidence of that military need occurring, while Israeli settler settlements are developed nearby.

Over the past 2 years, I have been studying the history of Israel and the plight of the Palestinians. Prior to that time, I blindly accepted what Israel was doing. Now, I see that their decades of conducting massacres, stealing land, putting Palestinians into jail without charges or trial, arresting Israelis who protest against their policies (including family members of hostages), the Apartheid system, and the deprivations they impose upon their captive civilians, are immoral, illegal, and inhumane. This dire dystopian nightmare must end and over half of the member states of the UN recognize the State of Palestine. Do it now!

This is the first I'm hearing about this film, which I'm not surprised by. However, I'm DAILY more and more stunned and saddened by the actions of Congress members!

AIPAC is the Israeli lobby that gives millions of dollars in donations to members of Congress and the president in order to influence American policy in their favor. It should be labelled as a foreign agent. It used to be more moderate but has become hyper nationalistic to the point that they promote the propaganda of the Israeli government and do not recognize the war crimes that Israel is committing. To counter their corrupt influence, a New Policy PAC was established last year by State Department officials who resigned in protest of the U.S. giving arms to Israel so it can conduct ethnic cleansing and annex the Occupied Territories. Israel takes billions of dollars from American taxpayers

yet its attacks upon its neighbors endangers peace and threatens to start WWIII. Rein in Israel and cut them off until they reform their government. Or else, disperse their population so that they no longer can disrupt world peace.

for me Oct 7th was the "fingerprint power" of what was silently happening in Gaza and West Bank. I am not glorifying Oct 7th or saying that was a good thing. But in a sens, one way or another Oct 7th was inevitable. You cannot do all what israel does and still hope for the status quo !!

I am a Jewish American woman. I belong to an organization called The Sisterhood of Salaam Shalom that promotes Muslim-Jewish connection between women. SOSS screened it for members. Many Jewish American liberals like me are horrified, angry and heartbroken about this genocide.

This moment in history is similar to that of the rise of the Nazis in 1930s Germany. It is a global threat as extreme right-wing figures are elected in many countries. It is a time when everyone who cares about humanity, democracy, and the rule of law must join forces to fight against it. Keep up your efforts!

I was able to see the film earlier this month, but sadly, the theater was also 50 miles from my home. We need more people to watch it, but very few folks are ready to sit with the uncomfortable truths it reveals.

I was finally able to watch this documentary, which is extremely challenging in the US. (Thank you Documentary Area for allowing access to this and many other documentary films.) It, along with the images of the starving children in Gaza, is so heart-wrenching to see the results of dehumanization. Thank you Mehdi for shining a bright light on this issue. And shame on the Congresspeople who won't open their eyes and their hearts!

Regarding Debra Shushan, urging people to indulge genocide-deniers (35:05-37:05): People shouldn't have to "die on a hill" just to call a thing a thing & insist that a fact is a fact. The truth matters, Debra. That's why deniers deny it.

Zaha Hassan's response to that, was so well stated. (And so gently stated. And so patiently stated.)

I completely agree! Shushan’s perspective is exactly like not using the term racism with white people for fear of “shutting down” the conversation. It’s pandering to snowflakes. Would a Holocaust survivor be told not to use the word genocide with a German for fear of not being heard? It’s BS! If American Jews don’t want to be associated with an Israeli genocide then they should get their asses out into the streets in the millions to protest! Shit even hundreds of thousands would do it. Instead JVP and similar groups show up in small numbers - less than a couple hundred from what I’ve seen.

I drove 30miles each way to see this horrifying portrayal of Israeli inhumanity in the West Bank! In fact, I would have traveled even farther to watch it.

By the way, for those who can't see the documentary in local arts or movie theaters, you can order a DVD on eBay. I’ve already ordered and received my copy, which I plan on passing on to my grandchildren so they will never forget!

34:20 the discussion about using the term genocide and one of panelists’ refusal and dissent of its use. It’s infuriating. And I believe it’s disingenuous and only revealing about her posture towards Palestine and Palestinians, that she believes they’re inferior.
