Brussels / London, 9 June 2025 — The Hind Rajab Foundation has formally filed a war crimes complaint with the Metropolitan Police War Crimes Unit (Counter Terrorism Command, SO15) concerning the Israeli naval raid on the British-flagged humanitarian vessel Madleen, which took place in international waters on 8–9 June 2025. The complaint targets the Shayetet 13 unit that executed the attack and Vice Admiral David Saar Salama who is the commander in chief of the Israeli Navy.

The Foundation has requested that UK authorities:
Open a criminal investigation against the Israeli naval and political officials responsible.

Ask all Nation-States with citizens held captive at sea and other nations to send soldiers and marines to join and re-inforce the current UnitedNations military presence at the Lebanon/Israel border. The UN has troops and a fort on the border between Lebanon and Israel with some current international troops, weapons and a military presence. If all nations work through the UN, sending troops and supplies to this border, this to force open and police the delivery of aide to Gaza, this will break the blockade and bring in the UN personel to join with UN aide workers, those still in Gaza, to distribute aid. Will Israel begin to attack soldiers from all those nations and bring WW III to their own door? I don't think so. Ask governments to deploy troops through UN channels to open aide channels and bring in both aide and international medical personnel now waiting at the border to go in to give help. Medical re-feeding is needed for tens of thousands of children and restarting food does not come in small cardboard boxes currently handed out. Special foods, training to give it and minimal to no danger getting supplies could save millions.

The Hind Rajab Foundation has filed a war crimes complaint in the UK over the Israeli navy’s assault on the British aid ship Madleen.
Elite Shayetet 13 commandos, under Vice Admiral David Saar Salama, raided the vessel in international waters.
Twelve unarmed civilians, including Greta Thunberg and MEP Rima Hassan, were forcibly abducted and detained.
Chemical agents were used, humanitarian aid was seized, and activists were denied legal and consular rights.
The complaint cites grave breaches of the Geneva Conventions, UK law, and binding ICJ orders.
The Foundation demands the UK act urgently to free the abductees and investigate the war crimes.
This case challenges Israeli impunity and tests Britain’s commitment to international law.

Concerning Israel's pretence that the stopping was in "Israeli waters" -
Israel's narrative for many years has been that it is NOT occupying Gaza, it had handed back Gaza control to the Palestinians.
Under that narrative, Gaza's waters can't be claimed by Israel as Israeli waters!
