I have a bidet that cost $60. I've had it for four years. it was a godsend. I have a son with multiple disabilities and a cousin recommended it. I told him we couldn't afford it and that's when I learned about the bidet attachments. Yes, you use less wipes and less toilet paper. My husband installed ours. Very easy. Republicans are just stupid. it would be funny if it wasn't so dangerous.
Americans have been generally squeamish about using bidets. Folklore has it that bidets were associated with brothels by US soldiers fighting wars in Europe and everywhere else. So of course, bidet use was blown off in this absurdly unserious culture. Most humans have been using bidets of one sort or another for hundreds of years.
Americans are unusual in their resistance to bidets' use. It's almost like we want to smell like excrement.
Bidet use drastically reduces the amount of toilet paper, wet wipes(a terrible abomination against water systems and sewers and landfills and the oceans), and cuts down on water use a whole lot as well.
I bought a bidet, just before the pandemic. When nobody could buy toilet paper, I was care free. I haven’t had to buy toilet paper in 5 years, my bidet has paid for itself many times over. I maintain that cities could do citizens a “solid” by subsidizing bidets. They are easy on the sewer systems, save residents money, save trees and water. Making toilet paper is a water hungry business.
I’m so fond of my bidet that, should I ever need to replace my toilet, I’d get one of those fancy, Japanese style “smart toilets”. You can find them for as little as $500.
Thank you for the report, Mr. Hasan this is actually very funny. Mayor Mamdani is fine person, yes, I know what, bidets are. Like you said Fox News is desperate, trying to make sure that, Mayor Mamdani is charged with a crime. Much of this is a total distraction. Please subscribe to ZETEO.
If only the wingnuts would try a bidet, I'm pretty sure most would be hooked. Unless they desire to remain in the Dirty Butt Club.
One of the most important discoveries of my life was the portable bidets which now sell for around $100 and install on the toilet. Cold water, but it feels like jumping into a pool for a few milliseconds. Only wish they had been available 50 years ago-----
I learned from a water conservation expert from Bangladesh that more water is used in the manufacture of toilet paper than would be used if we all used water instead of toilet paper. Think about all the money and resources that could be saved!
So, if you add up all the real costs, any Mayor who hasn't made bidets available as an alternative to toilet paper is wasting public funds.
Got half of my colleagues to install bidet’s at their homes during COVID cause they were worried about the toilet paper shortage! Everyone should have one.

This is funny, outrage over this????
White lady here, and a bidet is a must.
i can't stop laughing
Same! So needed this laugh 🤣
In Japan train station public toilets have bidets. America is truly living in the past. Thanks Mehdi!

OMFG! Good for Mamdani! Cleaning his own ass instead of getting others to lick it like Trump.
This is MY kind of humor!

is that the best they can do? A story about nothing!

Ignorance is why we are going backwards as a country!!
Gracie Mansion has 5 bathrooms. So five healthful, environmentally responsible devices (none of them gold) costing a few hundred dollars is a scandal.
